EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Indian insurance industry is emerging rapidly after year 2000. To survive in
these highly competitive scenario Managers will bring pressure to improve
quality recruit quality and skilled people. Collective efforts of the employer
manager and other relative people assume relevance in this context and this
their marketing management and human resources play an important role. The
primary concern of an organization is its viability and hence its efficiency. There
is continuous environmental pressure for efficiency, and if an organization does
not respond to this pressure, it may find itself rapidly losing whatever share of
the market it has.
The insurance operation is under sea change not nationally but also on
international arena. This study is an effort to analyze the HR Practices at HDFC
Standard Life Insurance Company Ltd. An effort was made to study the HR
policies, their effectiveness and contribution to the growth of the organization
through its main resources the Human Resources.
The study tries and covers the various facets and activities of the Human
Resources Department including the Human Resources Development.
The chosen area for this study plays a very significant role in the growth and
development of the company and particularly in case of HDFC Standard Life
Insurance Company Ltd.
