First, there are some things you should know if you want to
hackintosh your system:
What works:
• Intel UHD 620 Graphics Acceleration (we are using a CoffeeLake platform-id for
now, will try to switch to native Kabylake graphics)
• Realtek alc256 Audio via VoodooHDA (please help generate a custom AppleHda
layout if you want to help, right now all existing layouts makes the tweeters work)
• Keyboard with Volume Controls (via VoodooPS2)
• HDMI + Thunderbolt 3 (TB3 at least works as a display output, not sure about
other functionality)
• Camera support up to 10.14.0
• Trackpad and Native Gestures via VoodooI2c (Four fingers support is not well
implemented, please try using five fingers as a substitution)
• Touchscreen with multi-touch capabilities (think of it as a large trackpad)
• Battery Percentage (via ACPIBatteryManager)
• Bluetooth (Not stable, further examination is required)
• Power Management
• Wifi via USB dongle

Requirements:
1 or 2 USB 16+ GB flash drives (2 is better for post install stuffs). Acceptance that this
will not be perfect. And lastly, Patience.
So now that we've gotten that out of the way, lets began.
Now that we are in a Mac environment, we will download our core tools to make the
USB installer.
First, download the Mac OS Mojave Installer. Don't click anything when it finishes. It will
most likely auto open, so just leave it there. Download the installer from here, as
the app store one will most likely give you the wrong installer.

This will provide a list of all disks and its partitions. Find out what your USB is named.
It's probably something like /dev/disk1s0
Next you will need to put these lines into terminal. (Replace /dev/disk___ with
whatever your disk is located at)

Now, on the desktop, you should have 2 USB partitions.
Closed?
One will be named CLOVER EFI, and the other Install_OSX.
Now, we will make the bootloader using this program:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/
When it is done installing, open up the partition on the USB named "CLOVER EFI"
Download the "CLOVER" folder from this link:
https://github.com/Darrenpan20/Matebook-X-Pro-Mojave-hackintosh-
*Be sure to download the one that says "for the bootable USB". After you
install it to the SSD later, you'll need the other one.
Open up "CLOVER EFI" and then click "EFI". There should already be a clover folder
there. Replace it with the one you just downloaded.
*Important: If you have a samsung or LiteOn NVME SSD, you most likely will
need an extra patch, refer to this guide:
https://github.com/RehabMan/patch-nvme I cannot make this patch because
its unique to every system and I have a Toshiba.
(Kexts are located at /EFI/Clover/kexts Just add the kext into there)
For liteon, you can try to add this to the "kextstopatch" section

Now that the boot-loader's done, we need to get the Mojave installer on the SSD.
Go back to terminal and input this line:
If you want to try to move it to the applications folder, input this line into terminal:
sudo "/Applications/Install macOS
Mojave.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia" --volume
/Volumes/install_osx --nointeraction
If you just left it in the downloads folder, type in sudo first, then drag into terminal the
Mojave Installation app, and finally, copy the rest beginning with /Contents. Here is an
example of what it should look like in terminal:
sudo "(drag into terminal where ever the Mojave installer
is)/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia" --volume /Volumes/install_osx -
-nointeraction
# rename
sudo diskutil rename "Install macOS Mojave" install_osx
Congrats, you have now made your USB, and are halfway finished.
Before we go to the next step, I urge you to create a post install USB or you will have a

When you get to the bios menu, turn off safe boot.
Now boot back into windows, go back to settings, Update and Security, Advanced
Startup.
When you reboot choose the USB you used and you should see clover pop up.
Installation
Prepare a USB mouse and keyboard.
Now, use your arrow keys to move the cursor to the installer and press enter. It should
take a while to boot up so give it some time.
If it doesn't boot up, boot back to the USB, use your arrow keys to go all the way
down to "Options". Click on it and use your arrow keys to navigate down to "Graphics
Injector". Click on it and scroll all the way down to "FakeID" Press enter once and put
in 0x12345678. Once your done, press enter again to be able to navigate. You also
want to make sure "InjectIntel" is checked for this.

same-drive-without-erasing.html This guide is ONLY about installing Mac OS
to your Matebook X Pro laptop.
Now, drag how much space you want Mojave to take up. Then, format it to "Mac OS X
Extended (Journaled)"
Now exit out of it and select the install button. Agree to the terms and let it do its
thing.
(The installation is a 2 part process)
Once the computer reboots, it will go back to the clover bootloader. This time, you will
select "Boot macOS install from..." or it may say " Boot OS X from (Your
Partition name) " Now it may or may not reboot again.
If you get back to the clover screen, select "Boot OS X from (Your Partition
Name)".
\Again, if it doesn't boot, just use the FakeID method. This will just load the
OS without a GPU for the time being.*
Get your extra USB with all the tools we downloaded and plug it in. Open up the Clover
installer "Clover_V2.4k"
Change the install location to your SSD partition and select the same options as we did
before in step 1. This time, we will also click, "Install RC scripts on target volume"
and "Install all RC scripts on all other boot volumes".
Now open up "EFI Mounter v3" and mount the partition. It should be /dev/disk0s1 for
the internal SSD.
Again, navigate inside the EFI folder and replace the CLOVER folder inside with the
other clover folder that says "after you install". Also, when you replace it, rename it to
CLOVER, instead of "CLOVER after install". (I had to name it that because github
wouldn't allow the same 2 names to be put with different descriptions).
https://github.com/Darrenpan20/Matebook-X-Pro-Mojave-hackintosh-
After that , open up the "VoodooHDA" package and install that. This will make your
sound work.
Now reboot a few times, and everything mentioned should be working, even
touchscreen!
Extra: Brightness doesn't work yet. Download "Brightness Slider" from the app store.
It doesn't change the actual brightness, but it pleases the eye since it changes the
white spot level or something along those lines.

Thanks so much. Look forward to trying this. Flying to Poland tomorrow but will give it

Oh... actually I’m not sure nVidia released drivers for Mojave yet. Will check.

This is something I cant really answer for you. Personal preference will take over.
Personally I use a $10 TL-WN725n nano adapter, but that signals not the greatest
and I may get a new one. However, that would mean I would sacrifice the nano size
for some bigger with stronger speeds. It’s your choice

I have trouble with the first boot. Clover shows up as it should, I do the gpu injection
step, and then I see the Apple logo and a loading bar as I should. But then it just
suddenly reboots, and I'm back in Windows. Any advice?
permalink embed save report reply
Did you make sure Inject Intel is checked, and fake ID is 0x12345678? What
happens if you let it boot normally? You may have to use a default HD620 plist
from rehabman first boot then if that doesn’t work.
permalink embed save parent report reply
If I use the HD620 plist from rehabman's GitHub, the booting Apple logo is
smaller. It doesn't crash, it just freezes.
you mean use his Clover version (from here)? Do I change any defaults?
Or should I just follow the guide here?
I tried that, it just gets stuck booting (I see black screen with
Apple logo, and the progress bar stuck in the middle). This
happens whether I inject the 0x12345678 or not. I used this
config file, and otherwise followed your guide.

Press the space bar on top of the “install osx” partition and
check the verbose button. It usually takes around 3-5
minutes to boot up. Do this with inject intel and fake ID

Brightness can be adjusted with brightness slider from the App Store. Not real
brightness, but it does brighten and dim the screen effectively like native

Thanks so much for this guide ! Closed?
I have the same i7 Huawei Matebook X Pro specs as yours listed at top of this guide.
I managed to install per your guide and completed the initial Mojave setup based on
external USB SDD instead of overwriting the internal Win10 SSD.
However after I completed the post install portion, upon rebooting from the Mojave
external SSD partition, the Apple logo will appear with the timeline progress bar and
midway through it just reboots itself.
Even when I tried the fake inject 0x12345678 method the same reboot issue remains.
However if reboot from the pre-install USB Clover and select to start the Mojave external
SSD partition, it starts up the OS beautifully.....though my trackpad and touchscreen is
still not working so I make do with the USB mouse.
How to make it boot up from the Mojave external SSD partition Clover ?
Did I miss anything as to why my trackpad and touchscreen is not working ?
Thanks !
permalink embed save report reply
Not possible? But before I encountered the issue of the trackpad and
touchscreen not working and before updating my Bios to v1.18 while
booting using the 1st USB Clover boot and selecting the Mojave external
SSD partition my screen was fine and everything looks small as 3000 x
2000 resolution.
For now the graphics worked fine.

Yeah that’s because the graphics were not working then. It might be
possible to set it that high, but it’s pointless. Everything is way too

properties is a much better method now. If you did all the steps and it didn’t work,
perhaps you missed something, or your bios isn’t version 1.18. Their are various
laptops with this CPU. MX150 doesn’t matter as its permanently disables anyways.
Every laptop is different and unique. Different hardware paths, etc. I haven’t bothered
with brightness keys as brightness doesn’t even work right now.
But glad you got it installed and working!
permalink embed save parent report reply
yeah realized the patch was just to get it recognized, and mine was already
recognized by mojave (which is weird because it shouldn't pass the 4k LBA test
it seems to be doing from the disassembly, but could be a different mojave
version). issue is that some nvme SSDs get recognized but drivers are unstable
for them and Samsung PM981 is one of them. some people seemed to have
some luck after a firmware update to the PM981 controller -
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/how-to-fix-pm981-in-10-13-3-
17d47.245063/. which i never tried, but I couldn't get through install without
panic and reboot. even not reading/writing to it and installing to external usb
ssd would cause reboot. i had to disable the "HDD" device option in bios in
order to get mojave installed on the usb drive and stable. ssd replacement was
a breeze though, just a dozen or so small screws. bios was/is definitely 1.18
and 100% sure of the PM981 causality after at least 100 reboots trying to
figure it out.
p.s. thanks a bunch! seems to run more snappily on os x than windows. might
be close to figuring out brightness/sleep and will desolder my wifi chipset for a
compatible one and dual boot mojave and a linux distro from now on. changed
my game!
permalink embed save parent report reply
Yeah then it was just the SSD that was causing the issue. Is the 981 the
default one that is shipped with the Matebook? Could be not enough
patches, did patch wrong, missed some stuff. Who knows. I read that path
is it has quite a few things to patch and read. It’s rather pretty confusing. I
think I snuck an extra patch inside on accident that may have caused the
980 to get recognized haha

permalink embed save parent report reply
I have the dual boot working. But when I upgrade it to 10.14.1, it added
an option "install from (my drive)" and it loops when I choose it and

permalink embed save parent report reply
That’s because it’s loading apples default kext when you upgraded. It
overrides my patches graphics kext... Why did you upgrade? Camera
doesn’t work on 10.14.1. I do have a different method that will allow
graphics to work with out the patched kext.. Boot into OSX with your
usb flash drive inserted. It will use the EFI partition for the USB
instead of the internal. It’ll load without graphics but you just need
to get into the EFI. I’ll send a config.plist later. Just replace the
current one with it..

Successfully installed on a 1tb Samsung 960 evo. Dual booting with windows 10.
Seems stable. Still super impressed. Getting 2700mb/s read and 1800mb/s write
which seems alright (not as quick as windows weirdly)!
Can I ask about bluetooth which is currently in the "working" section (albeit with your
note saying it needs stabilising). When you say it's not yet stable, can you clarify what,
if anything, works and how? I'm unable to detect anything via bluetooth (Apple Magic
Mouse, Microsoft mouse, Bose headphones).
Thanks again. Typed this from within Mojave. Still quite... unbelievable.
Unlike the WiFi card, even thought it’s a WiFi + Bluetooth combo card, it’s not
“blocked” by OSX. Just boot into windows first to start the card, then reboot into
macOS. This is important. If you want Bluetooth, it won’t work from a cold boot.

3. Thunderbolt is weird for OSX. I do have a USB C to USB A so I’ll test it out.
4. Didn’t notice that my PM was not correct. Fix coming soon.

Has anybody tried with i5 CPU model? If yes, I would buy this laptop. Thank you very
much.
permalink embed save report reply
I5 will just require a quick SMBIOS swap. Currently it’s using MacBook Pro 15,2, so
I just have to change it to step it down one configuration. Hang in there, I will add
it in the guide m!

I'm trying to install it on a partition on the internal SSD instead of making it my only
OS. When trying to format the partition using Disk Utility, I get "MediaKit reports not
enough space on device for requested operation." I think this is because the internal
ssd doesn't use the GUID Partition table scheme. Also, I'm not sure what I did wrong,
but now when I restart the laptop, I get a message saying "No Boot Device". I'm
guessing I have to go make a bootable Win 10 < disk
> to see what's
discussions wrong now

Did you take a look at the website that the guide had about windows duel
booting?
permalink embed save parent report reply
Yes I was following that. That's why I made the an NTFS partition and
then used the Disk Utility to Erase it as OSX extended journaled. Right
now I'm just wondering why it won't boot from a bootable USB
permalink embed save parent report reply
You should have used MiniTool Partition Wizard. Maybe I linked a bad
guide. My apologies. By booting do you mean it won’t recognize the
USB as a bootable Device?

Anyways yeah, got any ideas on how to dual boot this?

Ah nice

If anyone accidentally ends up deleting their EFI partition, Method #2 on this page
worked perfectly in fixing it for me. https://www.easeus.com/partition-master/restore-

Well I got Clover working on my internal SSD. I can load windows EFI from Clover just
fine, but when I try to load macOS, the Apple logo comes up and gets halfway through
the progress bar before rebooting. I tried the inject intel and fakeid but that didn't
work either. I've tried safe mode, with and without injected kexts. No luck. Safe mode
+ without injected kexts makes it about 75% of the way through the progress bar. Any
ideas? I installed the intel graphics kexts and ran the voodoo program, as well as fixed
my Clover install right before this happened.

1.09. I tried updating it but it just wouldn't update. The battery was above 80%
and it was plugged in.

Well as stated, it only works on BIOS3 1.18 and above for some reason.

Holy shit it worked. I didn't think the bios was the issue but now
it boots no problems. Just installed my WiFi driver and trying to
get imessage working. I'm gonna try this guide and see if it
works for that https://hackintosher.com/guides/quick-fixes-
facetime-icloud-imessage-hackintosh-not-working/
permalink embed save parent report reply
Yes you need to create your own Serial Numbers for that and
App Store to work
permalink embed save parent report reply
I followed all of your steps and installed everything on my internal drive to dual-boot
along with windows, and then followed the steps here:
https://hackintosher.com/guides/hackintosh-dual-boot-windows-10-and-macos-high-
sierra/#step5
Everything works great, I select my Mac OS X drive and the apple logo comes up and
loads, but after it finishes loading a white do not enter sign appears and nothing else
happens. Any ideas to fix this?

What BIOS version are you on, are you booting with the USB? internal? Where did
you install clover bootloader to and did you install ONLY the patched
AppleCFLgraphics kext with kext utility?
permalink embed save parent report reply
Updated to 1.18, it works when booting with the USB but the do not enter sign
appears after trying to boot with internal. Installed clover boot loader to my
hackintosh partition on internal ssd, and that's the only kext I installed with the
kext utility.
permalink embed save parent report reply
I reinstalled and that didn't fix it, but I looked in the config.plist on my
internal drive and realized that it didn't have the liteon nvme fix that
was on my usb from your guide. That explains why it booted from the
usb but didn't do anything with just my internal, and everything is
working great now! :))

Thanks for a great guide! Im all set except right click isnt working... any help?
permalink embed save report reply
Right click kinda buggy on all touchpads. Unfortunately, you’ll have to use 2 finger
touch for right click. However, with tap to click enabled, you’ll get used to it pretty
quickly!
permalink embed save parent report reply
Hey! First off thanks for the guide great stuff! During the process however I ran into an
issue. I formatted my external SSD and MAC OS Extended (Journaled) went to install
Mojave and it greys out my drive and says: "You may not install to this volume
because the computer is missing a firmware partition". Tried googling for a solution but
nothing helped :/.

Is there any update on the new CPU and graphics patches? Thanks!
permalink embed save report reply
You’re not suppose to move anything in the Microsoft folder, only rename. You
rename bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi. Delete any duplicate Bootmgfw.efi’s. If
the theme is not working, just go to my GitHub page and download the Clover after
install folder. Then just copy and paste the “THEMES” folder into your system EFI
CLOVER folder and replace the current one in there.

Kwothe
Ok! Thank you for the theme issue!
The big problem still remain:
1- if I don't delete /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi then Clover menu doesn't
show up and MateBook boots directly in Windows 10 (...I can't access OSX)
2- if I delete /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi then Clover menu shows up but
there are only two entries: OSX (that boots perfectly...) and OSX Recovery
(that doesn't do anything...), so I can't boot in Windows 10... I tried to add to
config.plist (which is in /EFI/CLOVER) a custom entry for Windows 10 (I
followed this guide https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/the-clover-
bootloader-does-not-show-windows-but-before-it-did.232146/ but without
success even if all the steps were successfull...)
3- if I use the usbpen made for installing OSX, then I can see Clover menu and
I can boot both in Windows 10 and in OSX...
...I'm quite frustrated since I don't figure out what I'm missing...
