Pre-requisites

1. Determine if you are using 32bit or 64bit Windows


a. Open Windows Explorer
b. Right-click Computer
c. Choose properties
d. Locate similar to this : System type: 64-bit Operating System

2. For 32bit : RUN (double-click) SQLSysClrTypes32Bit.msi


3. For 64bit : RUN (double-click) SQLSysClrTypes64Bit.msi
4. RUN (double-click) ReportViewer.msi
5. If your machine do not have MS ACCESS 2010 installed :
a. For 32bit : RUN(double-click) AccessDatabaseEngine_x32.exe
b. For 64bit : RUN(double-click) AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe
6. If your machine do not have Adobe Acrobat reader installed:
a. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader from Adobe.com or

b. Run the

7. YOU ARE NOW READY TO INSTALL INFOLIB

Infolib2015 Installation

1. From installation Folder,


a. RUN Setup.exe

b. Click Next
c. Accept the License Agreement, Click Next
d. At Destination Folder, Click Next
i. The Default : c:\Program Files\Infolib\Infolib2015
e. Ready to Install the Program, Click Install
i. It will take several minutes

f. If there is security warning :


g. Click Yes
h. When Completed you will see screen similar to this:

i. Click Finish.
j. Congratulations!
k. Check the installation folder
i. Barcodes : Default folder for saved
barcode
ii. Database : Folder for Database
iii. FullText : Save here all the PDF
Fulltext
iv. FullTextArticle: Save here all the PDF
for Periodical Articles
v. Images
1. BookCover
a. Contains bookcover
JPGs
2. Patron
a. Contains Images of Patrons. Format is IDNO.JPG, ex. 12345.JPG
vi. Reports : Contains Reports Definition
vii. Infolib.conf
1. A text file that tells the system, the location of the default folders.
2. By default, it is blank (Save/Search Data locally).
3. To Save/Search Data to/from the server, edit the file and add the line:
4. SERVER=xx.xx.xx.xx (Where xx…is the IP address of the server that
contains the default folders.) EX. SERVER=10.13.33.204

TO NETWORK INFOLIB
DATABASE AND FOLDERS:
Take note of the IP
Address of the server (Ex.
10.13.33.204)
1. Create a shared folder on the Network drive. Name it glsystems

2. Right click the glsystems folder, then click Properties

3. In the Sharing Tab, Click Share button

4. Make sure that there is Check on Read/Write Permission


5. You should also create a user on the server. You will use it to connect to the shared folder.

6. Add password to the Account.

7. Copy the Folders and Files (Barcode, Database,Documents,FullText,FullTextArticle,Images,Reports)


to the glsystems folder of the server.
8. From the work station try to connect to the shared folder using Windows Explorer.

9. Make sure that you can see the default folders of the server before you proceed running Infolib.
Username and password is also required (Use the created username/password in Steps 5&6)

10. Check your infolib.conf file (as outlined on page 2. K.vii)


11. Every workstation with infolib.conf pointed to the server will Save/Search data from this folder.
12. These folders should be backup regularly.
