Daily Lesson Plan Format

(Based on DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2016 (POLICY GUIDELINES ON DAILY LESSON PREPARATION FOR THE K
TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM)

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard

The learner demonstrates understanding of contemporary Philippine literature as a means of


responding to the demands of the global village; various extended and types; lexical and contextual
cues; appropriate and polite oral language, stance, and behavior; and use of imperatives, prepositions,
verbs, and wh-questions.

B. Performance Standard

The learner transfers learning by; explaining the need to be cooperative and responsible in
today’s global village; using appropriate strategies to comprehend extended text types; using lexical and
contextual clues to understand unfamiliar words and expressions ; using imperatives, prepositions, and
appropriate and polite oral language , stance and behavior in various information-sharing formats.

C. Learning Competencies

Supply other words or expressions that complete an analogy, discover through Philippine
literature the need to work cooperatively and responsibly in today’s global village and express
appreciation for sensory images used.

Enabling Objectives: At the end of the lesson the Grade 7 Einstein should be able to:

 identify the definition of vocabulary words that may encounter in the story
through matching type
 determine the moral lesson of the story
 relate the characters action in real life situation
 construct a rainbow and color it with the colors that represent your
personalities.

II. CONTENT

Topic: The Parable of the Rainbow Colors by, Juan M. Flavier

Materials: Image of the rainbow, Visual Aids, Laptop, Projector, Video Clip and Book

IV. PROCEDURES

A. Before the lesson

 Review of the past lesson
B. During the lesson

Motivation – The teacher will group the students into four and each group will have
different task to do and should present their work in front The group 1 will make a short news
casting and they will report how the rainbow was made and when the rainbow will show. The
group 2 will create a short commercial presenting the Nips candy. The group 3 will discuss what
the rainbow colors represent and for the last group, group 4 will make a short skit showing the
manner of being humility and being not.

The teacher will post the word hunt on the board and the students will encircle the correct answer by
looking on the given sentences.

Discussion: The teacher will set first the classroom for listening and viewing activity, the teacher will give
the do’s and don’ts before the video plays. Do’s; bring out your English notebook and take down notes
all the important information regarding to the topic, keep quiet and listen very carefully. Don’ts; do not
be noisy and gadgets are not allowed especially the mobile phones.

The teacher will give 3 guide questions.

1. Who are the characters in the story?

2. What does each color represents?

3. What is the main problem in the story?


The teacher will start to play the short video clip, after playing the video the teacher will ask some
questions according to the video that the students have watched.

Questions:

1. If you were given a chance to be a color what color will you choose and why?

2. What is the moral lesson of the story?

C. After the lesson

Activity: Draw a rainbow and color it with the colors that represents your personality. Explain
why you chose it.

GENERALIZATION

The teacher will call 3 to 5 students to share on what they have learned from the topic that we
have discuss.

V. ASSIGNMENTS

1. Create your own quotes about being a good person.

2. Have an advance study about the Homonyms, Homophones and Homographs.
