1.0 Scope
This procedure defines the method required to test:
• 9900-40765-00 AUDIOPHILE 2496 - MAT
• 9900-50765-00 AUDIOPHILE 2496 - MAT

4.0 Process Description


4.1 Audiophile needs to be in a “like new” state.
4.2 Computer must be OFF.
4.3 Install the PCI card into the desktop computer’s PCI slot.
4.4 Connect the breakout cable to the PCI card.
4.5 Power up the computer.
4.6 On the computer: go to Start – Control Panel – M-Audio Delta.

4.7 TEST INPUTS AND OUTPUTS


4.7.1 Connect audio source to the Audio InL port on the PCI card.
4.7.2 Connect speakers to Audio OutL port on the PCI card.
4.7.3 On the Delta control panel: select the output tab. In the 1/2
out channel, go to output source and select 1/2 in from the
drop down menu (see photo next page).
4.7.4 Test for sound.
4.7.5 Connect audio source to the Audio InR port on the PCI card.
4.7.6 Connect speakers to Audio OutR port on the PCI card.

4.7.7 Test for sound.


4.7.8 On the Delta control panel: select the hardware tab. In the
sync source field, select external – spdif.
4.7.9 Connect digital sound source to the RCA IN on the PCI
breakout cable.
4.7.10 Connect RCA OUT on the breakout cable to S/PDIF In on the
speakers.
4.7.11 On the Delta control panel: select the output tab. In the spdif
out channel – output source, select spd in.

4.7.12 On the back of the speakers, switch Input Select to Digital – the
middle setting.
4.7.13 Test for sound.
4.7.14 Disconnect S/PDIF cables and reset speakers.

4.8 TEST MIDI


4.8.1 Connect MIDI keyboard to MIDI IN on the PCI breakout cable.
4.8.2 Connect MIDI OUT on the PCI breakout cable to the MIDI
sound module (MidiSport).
4.8.3 Connect MIDI sound module to speakers.
4.8.4 On the computer, launch the MIDI OX program.
4.8.5 In MIDI OX: from the top menu, select options – MIDI
Devices.
4.8.6 In the MIDI Inputs field, select 1) Delta AP MIDI.
4.8.7 In the MIDI Outputs field, select 2) Delta AP MIDI.

4.8.8 Click OKAY in the MIDI Devices window.


4.8.9 Tap the MIDI keyboard. Sound should be heard from the
speakers and corresponding data should appear in MIDI OX.

4.9 TEST COMPLETION


4.9.1 Shut down the computer completely.
4.9.2 Disconnect cables.
4.9.3 Remove the PCI card from the testing computer.
