GUIDELINES REGARDING MCA FINAL YEAR


PROJECT
The Project work that is to be undertaken by students is part of their academic
curriculum. This work should reflect the comprehensive knowledge gained during the
course of their study and strictly adhere to standards.
 The project work will be of 6 months duration with 36 periods per week and
one period comprises of one-hour duration.
 The project work should be done on an individual basis. Group projects are
not permitted.
 The project will be evaluated for 200 marks with 200 marks for internal and
200 marks for external assessment.
 The date of viva-voce will be intimated in due course.
 Students are hereby advised to strictly adhere to the following guidelines.
 Students are advised to submit their project synopsis on or before the date
specified.
 The format for the synopsis is given at the end, which has to follow strictly.
 Each student will be allotted a guide.
 Students are advised to consult their guides in important matters regarding
their project work and they have to report the progress of their project to the
corresponding guides.
 Students are advised to take note of the schedule for the project work.
 Attendance is compulsory for all reviews; failure to comply with will result in
the slashing of internal marks.
 Students should make arrangements for their presentation in power point tool.
 They should get their project proposal approved by the project evaluation
board before they proceed with their project work. The approval of the project
will be subject to strict scrutiny of the proposal. Any request for change of
dates will not be entertained.
 The intimation regarding approval/non-approval of project proposal will be
made within one week of submission of the synopsis.
 Students should contact their guides for clarifications regarding their work.

 While attending the reviews the students should present their up to date work
(including DFD, UML, flow chart, file design, module design).
 Students should not take the printed report of their project work without
the prior permission of their guide.
 The authority of the organization should duly certify the project report
where the project is undertaken.
 Students should get their project report duly signed by the guide.
 Students should submit their synopsis in the prescribed format to the Lecture-
in-charge.
 Good quality white executive bond paper A4 size should be used for typing
and duplication. Care should be taken to avoid smudging while duplicating the
copies.

 Page numbers - All text pages as well as Program source code listing should
be numbered at the bottom centre of the pages.
 Sample code for the project should be submitted along with the printed
documentation. No need for submitting the entire code.
 The Final report should contain at least 80-100 pages of documentation
excluding coding typed in 1.5 line space in A4 size paper.
 The final report should be submitted in the following format.

FORMAT OF SYNOPSIS

1. Title of the Project.


2. Name of the Organization where the project is done.
3. To whom the project is intended for.
4. Tools/Platform used.
5. Modules of the Project (Brief description about each module.)

NOTE: The synopsis in the prescribed format typed in A4 size paper shall be
submitted to the library. The Student should make sure that their synopsis is
approved before they proceed with their project. Synopsis received after the due
date will be summarily rejected.
