HLURB Poultry
Sir:
The undersigned, as Chairman of the SP Committee on Zoning, Housing and Land Use, caters to
all queries and concerns regarding locational clearances and land use, among others. One company
in Ormoc City, which is into the hatchery business, has raised a concern regarding the classification
of their hatchery.
According to HLURB Board Resolution No. R-674, Series of 2000, it defines Poultry Farm as any
parcel of land devoted to the raising of domesticated fowls which serve as sources of eggs and
meat for human consumption as well breeding of gamecocks, which includes any species of fowl
such as chicken, duck, geese, quails, pigeons, turkey, ostrich, guinea fowls and gamecocks.
1. Whether or not a hatchery for poultry is within the ambit of the classification of Poultry Farm
for purposes of applications for locational clearance
2. Whether the establishment of said hatchery would require the 1,000 meter radius from built-up
areas
In this regard, the undersigned is most respectfully asking for your office’s opinion regarding the
said matter and to assist the City Planning and Development Office regarding this matter.
We fervently hope that this request would merit your kind favorable response at the soonest
possible time.
Thank you.
