Prayer
Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan
and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days,
to be tempted by the devil.
He ate nothing during those days,
and when they were over he was hungry.
The devil said to him,
"If you are the Son of God,
command this stone to become bread."
Jesus answered him,
"It is written, One does not live on bread alone."
Then he took him up and showed him
all the kingdoms of the world in a single instant.
The devil said to him,
"I shall give to you all this power and glory;
for it has been handed over to me,
and I may give it to whomever I wish.
All this will be yours, if you worship me."
Jesus said to him in reply,
"It is written:
You shall worship the Lord, your God,
and him alone shall you serve."
Then he led him to Jerusalem,
made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and said to him,
"If you are the Son of God,
throw yourself down from here, for it is written:
He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,
and:
With their hands they will support you,
lest you dash your foot against a stone."
Jesus said to him in reply,
"It also says,
You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test."
When the devil had finished every temptation,
he departed from him for a time.

Prayer
God, our Father, source of all grace and holiness, look with
love on us, Your children, who have prayed at the relic of St.
Camillus de Lellis, servant of charity and heir of Christ, faithful
witness to the Gospel. May we experience the effectiveness of
his intercession at the throne of your glory, so that we too may
become servants of the Lord and bear fruits of love.
Intercessory Prayers
Response:
Kyrie Eleison
1. We pray for the Church, the Listening body of Christ, that She
may continue to nurture and invite her children, both young and
old, to the banquet table of the Lord.
2. We pray for all leaders and ministers, who embody the Listening
Church of Christ, may they always heed both on the Words of the
Lord and the needs of the Faithful.
4. We pray for all young people, that in spite the troubles of our
world today, they will continue to live and share Jesus Christ in
the words they speak and the lives they live.
5. We pray for all the sick and the suffering, both young and old,
may the Lord heal them in His love and mercy.
May you, who on earth had such devotion to Jesus Crucified on the
Cross and to Mary, Mother of the Ministers of the Sick, and who had such
charity and compassion for those who suffer, obtain from Jesus and His
heavenly Mother the grace we now request, and also a sincere
resignation to the Will of God
O St. Camillus, you have said that “the poor and the sick are the heart of
God” and that in serving them we serve Jesus Christ.
When we serve the sick, help us to see in them the image of Jesus. Give
us hearts that love, eyes that understand, words that comfort, and a faith
that inspires them.
When we are sick, enable us to transform our suffering into healing, our
fears into trust, our discouragement into prayer, and to treasure each gift
and moment God gives us. We ask this in Christ’s name. Amen.
