Classroom Management Philosophy

My classroom management philosophy will be an important part of my future classroom,

and I plan to have my philosophy framed near my desk. Engagement plays a role in classroom

management because, it gives the students an opportunity to participate and be engaged in the

lesson. Engagement helps the students and the teacher interact and use different strategies with

the students. Classroom management helps to establish a routine, and it allows the teacher to

teach effectively. Engagement plays an important role in managing a classroom because it can

help with behavior problems, if the students are engaged in can help them to focus on the lesson

instead of causing behavior problems.

I will establish procedures, routines, and behavior expectations in my future classroom by

having a visual posted in the classroom and I will use a reward system and chart. I feel that by

having a visual of what is expected it can help the students to know what to expect. I will review

the expectations daily and have a reward chart for the students that follow the behavior

expectations. I will also send a copy of the routines, procedures, and behavior expectations to

the parents, so we can be on the same page as to what is expected at school. We will practice

procedures and routines to give the students an opportunity to be familiar with each one.

The classroom management strategies that I will use to meet the diverse needs of my

students will be to become familiar with the needs of each child in my classroom. I will use the

appropriate strategy depending on the need of the student. Every child learns differently so as I

get to know each child, I will know what strategy works best. To achieve my instructional goals,

I will always plan and practice. I will teach instructional goals by having I can statements and

allowing my students to set individual goals to monitor their growth. A big part of me setting
my instructional goals, will be to motivate and praise my students daily. Involving families is an

important part of the classroom, and I will involve my parents by sending home weekly

newsletters, having a classroom webpage, and using ClassDojo. I feel by having multiple ways

for the parents to check things it gives them the opportunity to choose which method they would

like to use to stay informed.
