A Day Without Electricity

These days electricity is serving as one of the basic requirement or necessity of

people. It has become a vital part of our daily life in such a way that it is difficult
to even imagine a day without electricity.

So let us see various problems we can face or what all can happen if we have to
spend a day without electricity.

First let us think about morning time. Once we are up after an alarm which might
also be running on power or even battery, the first thing we do is to clean out teeth
and get freshen up. Sometimes people also take shower along with.

But the water cannot be heated without electricity, so it will be cold water for us.

One will head to the kitchen for breakfast and fridge for the supplies. But the
supplies are not cold but warm and may be damp as there is no electricity to run
the fridge. Things that require cold temperatures would have rotten already as they
are kept in refrigerators for preserving. Again to run a coffee machine or to make a
toast, one would not be able to do so as there is no power.

So this was morning without hot water, rotten heat sensitive food products, no hot
or cold coffee, no toast.

Let us now see what will happen in day time! Now as there is no power, bus,
trains, subways, trams would not be in running application so it is definite that you
will find your office too far away from your home even if it is not that far. We will
either have to walk or take a ride via a bicycle, even a pony ride is an option if one
can find any.

This also creates a situation where we are very late to office also because of slow
speed of either of the option we choose from to reach to work. Even in office we
will see work is hampering because of experiencing a day without electricity.
No computers, fax machines, printing machines, phones would work in such a
case. Even the deadline calling work like presentations etc. could not have been
completed. We will have to write things down with the help of a pen and a paper
and complete that deadline calling work.

Now after this tiring and struggling time, one needs to sit back and relax simply.
Firstly we will have to go back home via the same mode of transport with which
we came by and while doing so we get more tired.

We might find supplies from the fridge that are still in eatable condition, unlike
cold juice or some dry bread may be, on even finding the remote of the television
might turn out as an disappointment due to lack of power supply.

So we have to find any other means of passing time, other than the ones that
employ power, likewise, other hobbies of newspaper or book reading might need a
source of light and even that cannot be done as there is no natural light after sunset
and no power to turn on any electrical lights. So from morning to night, passing a
day without electricity is not that simple as it seems to be.

Importance of Electricity in Various fields

0f all the inventions during the last two centuries, the invention of electricity has
been the most wonderful and useful. Everywhere we find ourselves amid the
various kinds of appliances based on electricity. But seldom do we realize how
much we depend on it for the comfort of our daily life. This is because electricity is
easily available to us. We realize the importance only when for a moment its stops
working.

At home
Electricity is important to run your appliances at home efficiently. For example
Lightning, TV, Refrigerator, AC. Fan, electric Oven, electric stoves, laptops and a
lots more.
At travelling
As electricity is an important part of our daily lives so is the travelling. Today a
vast number of travelling medium like the electric train, aeroplanes, electrical cars
and even electric Rickshaw are running on electricity.

In Medical Facility

Without electricity, hospitals would have significantly less medical equipment

available to help people with medical problems. Electricity, hence, saves lives and
allows people to live longer. So not only are we are more aware and intelligent
society but we have become much healthier. Our lives are improved no end by
electricity, and it’s certainly true that most peoples’ living quality would be
significantly reduced and affected if electricity were to somehow disappear.
Electricity is the basis of most modern inventions and naturally without it, the 21st
century would be comparable to the 19th.

Conclusion:
In short. Without electricity, you can’t even imagine your daily life.
