The key takeaways are that the APU provides electrical, pneumatic and bleed air power for ground operations and can serve as a backup inflight. It is located in the tail cone and controlled by a dedicated computer.

The purpose of the APU is to provide electrical power, pneumatic air and bleed air independently of external power sources to enable ground operations and serve as a backup inflight power source up to FL390.

The APU is controlled primarily using two push buttons and is monitored on a dedicated APU systems page which is displayed automatically during starts and if any abnormalities occur. The computer monitors and controls all aspects of APU operation.

Welcome to the presentation

covering the Auxiliary Power

As with most commercial

airliners, the A320 Series APU
enables ground operations
independent of external

sources.

The APU also provides a
