VTFT Lesson Plan Template: Standards of Learning
1. What steps did you go through to create this lesson? With whom did you talk, discuss, or edit your
lesson?
I consulted with Mrs.Free and Mrs.Stoakley about what to write and how to introduce it to students
2. How did the SOLs and Objectives help focus your instruction?
They helped to know exactly what the students should know by the end
3. What parts of the instructional plan worked as you anticipated?
It all worked as planned
4. What, if any, adjustments needed to be made once you began?
N/A
5. How well did you anticipate the materials needed?
Everything was prepared well
6. How effective was the assessment you chose to use? (If no assessment was used, what will the future
assessment be and how will you gauge its effectiveness?)
Very effective, I got a feel for where the majority of the class is, which students are excelling, and
what students are struggling
7. To what degree do you feel that this lesson was a success? What evidence do you have for the success
of the lesson? (Hint: Student learning is the key to a lesson’s success!)
I feel like overall it was a success. Almost all students had every component and mainly struggled
with grammar and spelling. However, there were some students that haven’t quite got the hang of it yet.
8. How did the time spent preparing for your lesson contribute to its success?
With the lesson being well planned out and fairly basic, it allowed room for any complications along
the way (like students getting off task).
9. If you could do this lesson again with the same students, would you do anything differently? If so, what?
I would have brainstormed together ideas on what to write about.
10. Any last comments/reflections about your lesson?
Overall, I think I did a fairly good job (considering it’s my first ever time teaching)
