Summer School: Martin Luther King Jr. Early College
• Worked with a class of 35 students to complete various math courses using the Edgenuity
platform
• Monitored their progress and helped create goals through the six-week time period to ensure
success in finishing courses
• Provided additional instruction and examples to students who needed additional support
• Trained by a licensed Edgenuity professional

Montbello High School January 2009 – June 2012
• Instructed 9th and 10th grade mathematics to a diverse student population.
• Created a learning environment focused on critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and
communication skills.
• Incorporated technology in classroom (clickers, projector, Microsoft Office 2010, and DocCam)
to support student learning; utilized effective classroom management, creative questioning,
assessment tools, and use of manipulatives to increase student motivation.
• 9th Grade Math Content Leader (2010-2011); worked productively with team to complete tasks
and used data to enhance instruction, including reviewing body of evidence to identify several
strategies and interventions for students.
• Developed Intervention Math Curriculum to integrate real world examples which introduced new
materials, consolidated important math concepts, and encouraged student learning.
• Established unit backward planning tools to align the math program to the Common Core State
and ACT Standards; tools included graphic organizers and materials to meet students’ diverse
needs.

on the college and scholarship application process.
• Head Coach for Boys and Girls Tennis Teams (2009-2012) leading and managing all phases of
the tennis program including player development, student academic eligibility, budget,
fundraising, marketing, and team travel.
• Actively participated in the University of Denver's professional development program for athletic
coaches; planned, organized, and executed two successful summer youth tennis clinics
effecting ages six to eighteen.

activities such as chaperoning Homecoming, Prom, and other student extra-curricular programs.
