When you listen to the recording, after you hear each question you should press pause' and answer the question before
going on to the next question.
Part 1 Introduction and interview
Examiner: Good afternoon. Could you tell me your full name, please? And can I see your passport?
Examiner: Thank you. Now, in the first part of the test, I'd like to ask you some questions about yourself.
Examiner: Let's talk about where you live. Could you describe the area where you live now? How long have you lived
there?
Examiner: Why did you choose to live in that area? What kind of people live in your area?
Examiner: Now we'll talk about sleep. How many hours a night do you think people need to sleep?
Examiner: What do you do if you feel sleepy but you have to stay awake?
Examiner: In your country, do people often have a sleep during the daytime?
Examiner: How do you feel when you are woken by an alarm clock?
Examiner: Now let's talk about watching television. What kinds of TV programs do you like? What time of day do you
prefer to watch TV?
Examiner: Have you ever lived in a home where there was no television?
Examiner: Do you think people watch too much TV these days?

Part 2 Individual long turn


Examiner: Now we come to the second part of the Speaking Test. I'm going to give you a card about a topic and I'd like
you to talk about it for one to two minutes. Before you start, you can have one minute to think about what you are going to
say. If you want to, you can make some notes. Do you understand? Here's some paper and a pencil for making notes and
here's your topic.
Examiner: I'd like you to describe a film you have seen that made an impression on you.

TOPIC CARD

what it was about
how popular it was
what you thought about the actors
and explain why it made an impression on you.

Examiner: All right? Remember you can talk for one to two minutes. I'll tell you when the time is up. Could you start

Examiner: Could you compare types of entertainment children like and adults like?
Examiner: Why is entertainment important in people's lives?
Examiner: Now let's talk about famous actors.
Examiner: Why do you think people are interested in the private lives of famous actors?
Examiner: In your opinion, is the amount of money earned by film stars justified? What would it be like to be a famous
actor?
Examiner: Finally, let's talk about global culture.
Examiner: How much influence does American culture have in your country?
Examiner: What are Hollywood films like in comparison with films produced in your country? How can a country avoid
being dominated by a foreign culture?
Examiner: Thank you very much. That is the end of the Speaking Test.
