Work Immersion Experience

During my work experience at Medical City Iloilo, I was fortunate enough to

have experienced firsthand and learned, many different sides of what goes into a
company, the general process of how a company is initially planned, developed and
completed; as well as how much work and detail goes into every stage. Another
valuable lesson I have learned during these 2 weeks, were the many different types
of work. On the first day we are oriented about the rules and regulations of the
hospital, what our limitation is and the things that we are not allowed because we are
still an OJT. On the afternoon we assigned to a different development of the hospital,
me and clay we are both assigned at the Warehouse or Materials Management
Department and we introduced ourselves to the employee. After being introduced to
everyone, we was handed a basic work, in which they gave us and that work is filing.
That was my first work I was so excited in that day but yet we are so tired because
there is a lot of filing to do.

Working on Medical City Iloilo for the first few weeks was enjoyable for me as
it did make me use all the techniques I learned at Western Institute of Technology
that had been taught to us. Through experience and observation, another valuable
lesson that I learned while working at Medical City Iloilo was so impressive because
they teach us all they do every work has a meaning and that give me a motivation to
back to work every morning at the hospital. I will be working at the hospital for 80
hours and within those ten days I already learned a lot of things, more than what I
expected.

There were many days that were busy where the deadline of supplies that we
were going to deliver. Because there is so many process. Overall, my work experience
at Medical City Iloilo was positive. I was very happy with the amount of things that I
have learned and experienced in the 2 weeks of being a Student with the company. I
believe that Western Institute of Technology should keep this aspect of the
Accountancy, Business and Management as it does provide students with the
experience needed in order to find a job later on, even if the experience is over a short
amount of time. Also, it can be very beneficial as it could lead to a more permanent
position. I ended up learning a lot more than I thought I would be able to in the time
and my hard work paid off as they gave us a certificate of completion of Work
Immersion from the company. I am so happy, and proud that I have completed
Immersion as a student at the Medical City Iloilo.
