Lesson 1 : Read & Write numbers up to hundred thousands

It is important for me to know to read and write numbers because –

it is a skill that we need to be exercised in order for us knowledge, understanding
to increase. We use math when it comes to counting money. It is a must to know how to
read and write members correctly.
We need to understand the place value of digit in a number. In this lesson, I
learned that numbers are written in words in the same way that they are read.

B. Answer these questions honestly with YES or NO.

YES Can you visualize numbers up to 100 000 with emphasis on numbers 10 001 to
100 000?
YES Can you read and write numbers up to hundred thousand in symbols and in
words?

Lesson 2 : Rounding Numbers

B. Give one tip to make it easier for your friend to round numbers.
Answer:
The general rule for rounding number is if the number you are rounding is
followed by 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 just round the number up example: 28 rounded to the nearest
ten is 30.
And if the number you are rounding is followed by 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 round the number
down. Example: 44 rounded to the nearest ten is 40.

Lesson 3 : Comparing and Ordering Numbers

Lesson 1 : Multuplying Three-digit Numbers by up to Two-digit numbers without regrouping.
A. Assess how well you performed and understood the activities.

A I can multiply up to 3 digit members by up tw0 digit numbers without


regrouping.

B. Help a friend who has difficulty multiplying three-digit numbers by two-digit numbers
without regrouping. Write how you will explain the process.
Answer:
First multiply the multiplicand by the ones digit of the multiplier then multiply the
multiplicand by the tens digit of the multiplier regrouping any digit as necessary. There will
be 2 partial products. The second partial product will always have zero in the ones place.
Then add the two partial products to find the final product.

Chapter 2
Lesson 2 : Multiplying Three-digit Numbers by Up to Two-digit Numbers with Regrouping
A. Do the 3-2-1 Exit Card.
Give three things you learned about multiplying numbers with regrouping.
Answer:
1. Sometimes we multiply numbers the product has more than one digit so we regroup the
numbers.
2. When we multiply numbers ending zeroes we write zero first before multiplying the
tens digit.
3. When we multiplying numbers with a 2 digit number get the partial products first by
getting the product of the multiplicand and the number in the one digit of the
multiplier. Then multiply the multiplicand with number in the tens digits, then add the
partial products.

Give two examples of multiplying numbers with regrouping.
