A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE

FOR GRADE V LEARNERS

I. OBJECTIVE:

At the end of a 60-minute period, the learners are expected to:


a. describe the parts of the male reproductive system and their functions
b. report and label the different parts of the male reproductive system
c. appreciate the importance of taking care of our reproductive system
Values Integration: Cooperativeness, Awareness, Appreciation and respect of one’s body
Science Processes: Identifying, describing, observing, and communicating.

A. Preliminary Activities

1. Building Rapport:

Good evening, class! Good morning, teacher!


Welcome to Grade V Rizal!

Okay right now, class secretary, is everybody present Yes, teacher. Everyone is present

Very good, I could see that everybody is excited to


learn today.

3. Checking of Assignment:
(The learners follow the instructions

4. Review:

Okay class! Let’s have a quick review of


yesterday’s lesson. Who can recall the topic that
we’ve discussed last meeting? (Someone raises his/her hand.)

(The teacher called one learner.)


Alright! Let me hear it from you. Our topic last meeting was all about
the Female Reproductive System.
Very good! And you may now take your seat. (The learner take his/her seat)

B. Lesson Proper

Before anything else, let me remind you first of our


Golden Rules, which is the LRH, Listen, Raise and
Honesty.

And that is when SOMEBODY IS TALKING HERE


IN FRONT OR ANSWERING AN ORAL
RECITATION, we must all LISTEN.

Secondly, when you have a question or you wanted


to answer a question. You must RAISE YOUR
HAND, and do not answer in chorus.

Lastly, BE HONEST all the time. Because we all


believe that an honest centavo is better than a stolen
peso.

Okay can we all repeat our golden rules? LISTEN!


RAISE!
HONESTY!

And also we should not forget our favorite one, and


that is when I say HEPHEP, you will always say
HOORAY!

I am expecting everybody from the class to observe


my rules all throughout our period today. Would that

1. Motivation:

Have you ever wondered how people multiply? Yes, teacher.

So for us to answer this type of questions. I want you


to go to your group, ad your group will depend on the
color of your name tag.

In this area will be the team BLUE (front left), team


PINK will be on that area (back left), team GREEN
will be on this side (front right), and lastly team
YELLOW will be on that particular side (back right).

So in the count of 10, I want you to form your group, (The learners follow the teacher’s
and form a circle, and choose someone that will serve instruction)
as the Team Captain. The first group to make it will
receive an additional 3 points.

GO! (the teacher will count 1-10)

HOORAY!
Okay class HEPHEP!

HEPHEP! HOORAY!

Okay listen to my instruction, each team will now


reactive an envelope containing your activity
material.

Inside that you will find a crosswords containing


different names of the organs that is responsible on
human reproduction.

In 3 minutes, I want you to find all the possible words


you could find. And here’s the catch in every wrong
word you got, it would be an additional points to the
other teams, so you must be very careful in choosing
the right words.
Cooperation is the key! Always remember that 2
heads are always better than 1. Yes, teacher.

So are you ready?


(The learners start doing their first
activity.)
Timers ready. On my cue, in 3, 2, 1… Go!

Time’s up! Marker up! categorizing the pictures.)

Okay everyone, please put back all the activity sheet


on the envelope. And team Captains please pass your
envelope in front.

Okay later after our discussion we will check all your


works, because we still have 1 more activity later
about our lesson.

So everybody please settle down now, and please do (The learners settle down.)
remain seated together with your teammates.

(NOTE: The Presentation part will be after the


Developmental Activity for the convenience of
spontaneity of the lesson proper.)

2. Discussion

Okay class, after your activity, can anyone from the


class already have an idea about our new lesson for
today?

(Someone raises his/her hand.)

Alright! Let me hear it from you.
Our lesson for today would be all
about The Male Reproductive System.

Very good! Can we all give him/her a hand? (The learners clap their hands)

Our lesson for today is all about The Male

And before we could formally start our discussion is


that we will read first the lesson objective.

The male and female have different reproductive


system. They have different parts and functions.
So today we will learn about the male reproductive
system. Are you ready class to learn?

(The teacher will now discuss the lesson.)

So again what are the parts of the male reproduction


system?
(Someone raises his/her hand.)

The parts of the male reproductive


system are penis, testes, epididymis,
vas deferens, ejaculatory duct, prostate
gland, and urethra.

Okay very good.

4. Developmental Activity:

Direction: The class will be divided again in 4 teams,


the same members per group in the first activity. This
is just a continuation of the first activity they did.

Each group will get their cross words. The facilitators


will now check first the number of the correct word/s
they have answered from the previous activity. After
that they will be given an illustration/ diagram of a
male reproductive system and they will label the
parts of the system by using only the correct answers
they got from the previous activity.

The group also have the choice to still answer the


remaining parts but it would be only given a half
score or a 0.5 per correct answer.
After that, presentation per group will follow. Each
group will be given 3 minutes each to report their
output.
a. Grouping of learners into 4 teams
b. Giving of instructions
c. Performing of the activity
d. Posting and reporting which are based on a
given rubric

5. Generalization: (LISTENING)
a. What is the importance of taking care of our
reproductive system? (Possible answers)
b. What do you think will happen if the male (Oral Recitation)
and female have the same reproductive
system?

D. Application

Direction: Go to your group area and gather as a


group. Brainstorm for 2 minutes on how you are
going to persuade the public to buy this product. A
maximum of 1 minute for the presentation. Perform
this in front of the class.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Research about the different disorders of the male


and female reproductive system. Give its cause, and
possible treatment, if any. Give a maximum of 3
disorders. Short bond paper, times new roman, font
size 12, margin 1 by 1.
