SAFETY

PROJECTILES
Recommended Pressures for Optimum Operating Performance of the
Equipment

This PepperBall® launcher may have the ability to launch both Round
PepperBall® projectiles and Shaped PepperBall® projectiles.
When launching Round PepperBall® projectiles the recommended
output velocity range is 280-315 FPS. Exceeding velocities over 315
FPS may have an adverse effect on accuracy.
When launching Shaped PepperBall® projectiles the recommended
output velocity range is 280-385 FPS. Exceeding velocities over 385
FPS may increase projectile breakage in the launcher.
Before Use: It is recommended that prior to each use or anytime
that a change is made to the type of projectile launching from this
PepperBall® launcher, or an adjustment to the velocity setting,
the launcher is first verified with a chronograph to assure that the
velocities are within the recommended output velocity range.

CO2 CANISTERS OR HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEMS

This PepperBall® launcher does not include a CO2 Canister or High

Pressure Air System that is under pressure.
When using this PepperBall® launcher with either a CO2 Canister or
High Pressure Air System that is under pressure, then the following

GETTING STARTED

1. High Pressure Air (HPA) Bottle Installation (SX only, TX comes with
HPA bottle and on-off valve already assembled, go directly to para-
graph 2 of TX models).

• Do not pressurize a partially assembled launcher

• Put trigger safety in Safe Mode (see instructions on page 3).

• Cock the launcher by sliding the bolt handle all the way
back until it locks into place. Always keep the launcher in the
un-cocked position when air supply is attached to the
launcher. This will help prevent an accidental discharge.

• To install the HPA bottle, lubricate the HPA bottle valve

o-ring with PepperBall® supplied lubricant. Place the on-off
valve lever to the “off” position and insert the HPA bottle into
the on-off valve which is already attached to the air supply
adapter at the back end of the launcher. Twist the HPA bottle
clockwise into the on-off valve until it stops. Adjust the butt
plate if necessary. Pressurize the HPA bottle to 3000 PSI Max.
Turn the lever of the on-off valve to the “on” position,
then cock the hammer back. The launcher is ready to
launch once you switch from “Safe Mode” to the “Fire Mode”.

HOPPER INSTALLATION
1. Hopper Installation and Filling
• Make sure that the feed elbow and hopper are clean and free
of any sharp edges to keep your PepperBall® launcher feeding
smoothly.

• Install the hopper neck into the feed elbow of your
launcher and tighten the hopper screw with a 3/16” allen
wrench. NOTE: Do not overtighten or the elbow may break.
With the safety in “Safe Mode”, you are now ready to
load your hopper with PepperBall® Projectiles.

• Fill the hopper and turn off the safety only when ready to
shoot.

PepperBall® recommends that all operators receive training in the
proper use of this or any PepperBall® launcher system prior to its
deployment. For a list of upcoming PepperBall® training courses,

UNLOADING YOUR LAUNCHER

To unload your launcher, make sure the launcher is on the “Safe
Mode” and completely empty the hopper. Place the on-off
valve lever in the off position. Depress the front sight and turn
the hopper to the side. Visually inspect the chamber and verify
that all projectiles are out of the chamber and barrel.

IMPORTANT: Do not uncock the launcher as uncocking the

launcher may push a projectile into the chamber or down into
the barrel.

High Pressure Air (HPA) Bottle Removal (Custom SX Only)

To remove a pressurized HPA bottle, place the lever of the on-

off valve to the off position, turn the HPA bottle counterclock-
wise until it is free from the launcher. Once air and projectiles
are unloaded the system retains pressure. Point the launcher
down or at a safe location and pull the trigger to release the
last of the pressure remaining in the launcher.

REPAIRING HIGH PRESSURE AIR (HPA) BOTTLE
LEAKS

The most common leak occurs from a bad bottle o-ring. To re-
place this o-ring you must first remove the bad o-ring and then
install a new one. This o-ring is located on the tip of the HPA
bottle. The best o-rings are made of urethane. The urethane
o-rings are not affected by high air supply pressures. These
may be purchased from UTS. NOTE: If a new HPA bottle o-ring
does not resolve the air leak, do not attempt to repair a high
pressure air bottle, please contact UTS.
