Section 3: Benchtop Harness Kit
The Electronic Service Tool kit can be updated with a bench top harness kit (CAS2751). These harnesses can
be used to allow bench downloading (selected controllers only) of controller software anytime an upgrade is
available for installation. This optional kit allows the customer and dealer to schedule the upgrade at a time that
is convenient to both parties and eliminate the need to install software updates while the entire system is
connected and functional.
The Main Harness adapter can also be used to power up the Universal Display for marketing or training purposes.

Section 4: Download Tool
NOTE: The Download Tool software is not required if Electronic Service Tool is available for software down-
loading.
The PTO and Hitch systems of selected tractors may require software installation. The Download Tool can be
installed on a compatible laptop computer and used with the Download Cable CAS2563 in Europe (CAS2551--3
North America). The purpose of the Download Tool is to provide the dealer organization with a method for:
• Downloading software to Hitch and PTO controllers when replaced. Controllers received from the parts
organization are supplied without software installed.
• Downloading software to selected tractor controllers when updates are required.

installation procedure. Internal battery power will not be adequate to complete the entire procedure.
It is NOT necessary to remove any saved files before performing this upgrade and other software approved by
CNH Global N.V. will not be adversely affected by this upgrade.
General Information
The following installation and setup guide contains instructions for the installation of the Electronic Service Tool
(EST) upgrade software. The upgrade includes Electronic Service Tool software and Engine Diagnostic Tool
software (INSITEt version 6).
IMPORTANT: This installation involves multiple CD--ROM disks. Each disk is labelled. It will be important to
use the CD disk labeling to identify what order the CD disk(s) should be placed in the CD--ROM drive.

If this is the first time the Insite Engine Diagnostic and Download Tool program has been launched since it was
installed, you will be prompted to register the program.
• A basic/registration password and a functional password (used with INSITE version 6) must be entered
before communication can be established with an engine control module (ECM).
Record the PC ID number from your Electronic Service Tool screen before contacting the Dealer Support
Organization.
• Each Electronic Service Tool laptop computer generates a unique PC ID number. The PC ID number from
each computer is used to determine the registration and functional passwords.
IMPORTANT: To obtain the required Insite password(s) (basic/registration and/or functional) contact the
company via ASIST, it may be a couple hours before a response is received.
Type the basic/registration password into the spaces provided. Left click the OK button.
IMPORTANT: The password for each EST computer is unique. Do not enter the hyphens during the process.
The spaces are arranged so the alpha--numeric groups are automatically separated as the password is entered.
• Anytime the INSITEt application is installed or re--installed the registration password must be entered. The
basic password provides read only access to INSITE.
