Introduction – what are they and how are they played.
You can tap them on your hands or 2 together. Be careful hitting them hard on a table as they can get damaged.
1. Place all boomwhackers on the table
2. What shape are they? Show some other cylinders 3. All choose a boomwhacker and describe it (colour, Letter, length and sound) 4. Each play together – call and response 5. Phrases – Hello, my name is …… 6. Foods I like phrases, I like orange 7. Place the boomwhackers on the table – can someone arrange the boomwhackers in size order? 8. What do they notice, show them the 2 red boomwhakers , which one is longer than the other? 9. How many boomwhackers are there? 10. How many different colours are there? 11. Divide the boomwhackers into 2’s and give them to each person. 12. Which sound is high and which sound is low? 13. Lets play some music – Jingle bells. We will need 6 volunteers and 1 bell player (2 Red, Green, Light blue, yellow, orange. Follow the cards 14. Worksheet to finish – colour in the boomwhackers in the correct order and answer the questions.
