    Cisco Mobility Express prerequisites

    Mobility Express? information?
    To configure the IP credentials for the virtual wireless LAN Typically, the internet router, broadband modem, or switch
    controller, before setup, you will need to determine the following: runs the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server.
    • IP address Exclude at least one IP address from the DHCP scope, which
    • Subnet mask will be statically assigned to the virtual wireless LAN controller
    • Gateway during setup.

    • The Mobility Express access point will get an IP address from the DHCP server.
    • This is the IP address of the access point and NOT the virtual wireless LAN controller.
    • You will have to manually configure the IP address of the virtual wireless LAN controller during setup.
    • Also, both the access point and virtual wireless LAN controller MUST be on the same network.

    1. Power up the Mobility Express
    Configure your controller access point.

    Create a wireless network 2. Use a standard Ethernet cable and connect
    the LAN port of your broadband modem or
    Apply the settings router directly to the Ethernet port marked
    “POE” on the access point.
