Unit One

1. Do you wish to study abroad? Why/ Why not?


Well of course.in my point of view , studying abroad may be quiet challenging but amusing and
life-enriching at the same time. There are many reasons why some people prefer to study
abroad but one thing that really stands out is that living and travelling on your own gives you a
greater sense of independence and expands your world views tremendously. As a fact , a
student with a foreign degree is supposed to have a better career prospect with a good salary
package.
2. Which reason for study abroad would be the most important for you?
There are many reasons why some people prefer to study abroad but one thing that really

4. How do you think people can reduce the effects of cultural shock?
Culture shock can be prevented or at least minimized in some different ways. In addition you
need to immerse yourself in the new culture and get accustomed with your immediate
surroundings as soon as you are in the honeymoon stage. To put in a nutshell , you have to
realize that the new culture has good and bad things to offer and that no way is really better
than another , just different.
5. Can you tell me a little bit about your home town? Where are you from?
Well I’m coming from Tehran I mean my hometown is Tehran. Tehran is not only the capital but
also the center of economics of Iran. Unfortunately air pollution is being pervaded all over the
city nowadays and you can see traffic congestion in most part of the city.
6. How long have you been living here?
I’ve been living in this city since I was born.
7. What do you like about living here/there?
I like its culture coz you can see people from all over the country , coming to this city for
education , work prospect and….so its full of different culture. Its more facilitated than other
cities in the country and it provides people with more advanced medical services and
transportation.
8. Is there anything you find difficult about living here/there?
The only problem about this city as I mentioned is its bumper to bumper traffics and polluted air
which cause lots of stress and diseases.
