Brake Testers

The main target of the brake tester is to make a quick and efficient analysis of the state of
the braking control in the vehicle, measuring its maximum braking with accuracy in each
of its axles, both the foot brake and the hand brake and emergency brake, as well as the
ovality of the discs and drums of the braking system. It optionally incorporates a weight
bridge to know the vehicle·s weight in order to be able to calculate the braking efficiency.

The RYME Brake Tester is a very suitable system for checking the state of the brakes of
motorbikes allowing loads up to 1000 Kg.The measurement of the braking force is obtained from
an electric signal produced by an extensiometric gauge to the data acqusition system drivenby a
microprocessor. The system consists of a frame with a roller coated in weld which assures a
good adherence of the tyres even in adverse conditions.The frame includes safety systems which
detect the presence of the motorbike during all the test, and the detection of the tyres when
measuring.

The Portable RYME ´s Braketester for motorcycles is a modular and detachable system adapted
for inspections of the system of brakes “in situ”. The measure force measured from brakes is
obtained through the electrical signs provided from a extensiometric gauge which is sent to the
computer and handled by the program. The system consists of two rollers covered with synthetic
material seated on a frame linked to an engine in an independent way. In this way is possible to
handle the equipment by parts for its transport and installation to the place of use. In addition the
frame includes safety systems for the protection of the tyre.

axle, and its main objective is a quick and efficient verification of the state of the vehicle braking
control, measuring with accuracy the maximum braking in the front and backaxles, handbrake as
well as the ovality of the discs and drums of the braking system.
The system consists of a chassis covered in weld which assures a perfect adherence of the tyres
even in adverse conditions, and it also is equipped with extensiometric gages for the measuring
of the braking effort.
A computer controls all the measuring system and the functioning of the machine. The control
can be made by using the keyboard or by remote control. The data visualitation is graphic and
numeric and inclusive through pointers. The indication is independent for each wheel and the
braking range is from 0 to 6 KN.

This frame is called to be the successor of the consolidated FRU2. An innovative design and
advanced manufacturing technologies give this frame all the features of its predecessor, as well
as significant improvements. Among these improvements is the possibility of adapting the brake
tester to the new demands marked by the new revision of the manual of Vehicle Inspection
Centers, in reference to the Standard ISO 21069, on heavy vehicle brake tests. This brake tester

from cars to quad/ATV, micro cars and motorbikes/scooters. The brake tester FRQ NET has
been developed and designed to test all kind of light and medium size vehicles, from vans, cars
to quad/ATV, micro cars, motorbikes/scooters. The system is composed by a chassis covered in
weld that guarantees a good adherence of the tyres even in adverse conditions, being equipped
with load cells and extensiometric gages for the measurement of the braking effort and of the
vehicle·s weight.The chassis comes with independient motors to drive the rollers. It also includes
safety systems which detect the pressence of the vehicle during the test and the loss of adherence
of the tyres when measuring.

FRQ CYCLE
The FRQ CYCLE brake tester is a lightweight range designed to test quad vehicles, ATVs,
quads, tricycles and motorcycles. Its main task for quick and effective verification of operating
status of the brake control, accurately measuring the maximum braking in the front and rear
axles, handbrake, and the existing ovality in disc and drum brake system . The system includes a
bank of welding coated rollers that ensure adequate adhesion of the tires and is equipped with
strain gauges to measure the braking force. The bench carries separate motors for driving the
rollers. It also incorporates safety systems that detect the presence of the vehicle during the test
and the loss of adhesion of the wheels at the time of measurement.
A computer is responsible for managing and controlling the entire measurement system and
operation of the machine. The control unit can be performed using the keyboard, mouse or
remote control and visualization of the data is graphical and numerical or through needles. The
indication is independent on each wheel and braking range 0-3 kN.

The Suspension Bench for testing vehicles allows for a fast and effective analysis of the
suspension in the vehicle. The test is realized measuring the wheels of each axle individually
using the method EUSAMA. Designed and made with the exclusive system “perfect fit”. The
chassis comes with safety systems which detect the presence of the vehicle during the test which
is done when the measuring platforms detect a configurable minimum weight. A computer
controls al the measuring system and the functioning of the machine. The control can be made by
means of keyboard, a mouse or a remote control.

The visualitation of results is graphic and numeric and it shows the effectiveness of the
suspension independently in each wheel and at the same time the difference of effectiveness in
percentage between both wheels. Oscillation between 16 Hz and 0 Hz by means of powerfull 3
Kw engines, simulating real road conditions to to achieve the right adherence of the suspension

BSU NET
The new Suspension Bench for testing vehicles is designed to support drive over loads up to
16.000 Kg. and permits heavy vehicles to pass over without necessity of covers. Its main
objective is to make a quick and efficient analysis of the suspension of the vehicle. The test is
done by measuring the wheels of each axle individually, using the EUSAMA method. Designed
and made with the exclusive system “perfect fit”. The chassis comes with safety systems which
detect the presence of the vehicle during the test which is done when the measuring platforms
detect a configurable minimum weight.

developed tandem line inspection. This line aligner to form a first step and a tandem brake tester
and bank suspensions. The duo consists of two pairs of benches for testing brakes and
suspension, a fixed and a movable which automatically adjusts to the specific battle vehicle to be
tested. The positioning is highly accurate through a transducer that constantly sends the position
of the movable bed to the electronic control and management of the machine. With this

The Monobloc complete lane consists of a side slip tester and a frame that integrates a brake
tester and a suspension bench. The obtained data are clearly presented in a TFT LCD screen for
quick interpretation of the results. Automatic and manual operation by remote control, starting

BD NET 4WD
The BD-NET dynamometric bench is a very useful tool for vehicle testing centres and repair
shops among others, since it is made to prevent, locate and investigate possible problems in
vehicles. Its function is to determine the power and the torque according to the engine’s,
graphically and numerically. The dynamometric bench includes a monocarcase steel frame
which has four 352 mm. cylinders. assembled on bearings. Both front rollers are milled and
joined by a transmission. They present a friction coefficient (pneumatic-roller) of 0,8 m. The
other two rollers are plain and turn freely. The Foucault electrical brake is assembled on bearings
and it is connected mechanically to the axle of the front rollers and can tilt on its axle. The
measurement of the speed is obtained by an incremental encoder on the axle of the front rollers.
Due to the resolution of the encoder, we have a high accuracy of the reading +/-1% km/h. The
bench also has a pneumatically operated lifting mechanism which, with a brake-blocking roller
system, makes the vehicle’s access and exit from the bench easier. The maximum lifting force of
this mechanism is 4.000 kg. on the axle at 8-bar pressure.

O, ISO 3930, UNE 82501, bar 90, bar 97, U.S. EPA ASM. The software allows two types of
measurement: 1. Numerical measurement: it presents the gas concentration and the r.p.m. In
numerical way. 2. Graphic measurement. Based on infrared technology, it measures up to 5 gases
(CO, CO2 HC, O2, NOx) and other parameters such as Lambda, corrected CO, oil temperature
and r.p.m. It is very useful for starting and injection problems as well as for improvement of fuel
consumption. The data base includes all car models and their emission values.

The smoke meter is a modern device, prepared and ready to comply with the regulations UNE
82503 and DIN 57411, SAE J1677 USA / Canadá. It is a partial flow measurer based on the
principle of the assorption of light by smoke. The software has two kinds of measurement: - Free
test: it allows us to do a continuous opacity test to observe the evolution of k in time. - Official
test: it allows us to do an official test guided by the program step by step. Configuration: This
function allows us to consult and modify the parameters of the test. Its access is restricted
through a password as a safety measure by the authorised technical personnel.

Red Ethernet connection: It allows us to send the measurement data to a central computer that
receives and manages all the information obtained from several machines creating complete
reports, as well as a database of vehicles and customers.

TÉCNICAS REUNIDAS DE AUTOMOCIÓN, S.A., has got a computerized system in
which all the working stations are connected on net. A special software manages all the
information that circulates through the net, it receives and evaluates all the data and the it sends
that information to the data server. The server also contains a visual inspection program.
The storage of this information allows a total control of the whole inspection process, because all
the results emitted by the machines are stored automatically as well as the vehicle assessment of
safety inspection "approved" or "rejected" and can be adapted to all the customer needs.
The system stores important data such as:

 The results obtained in each machine.

Each machine can be connected to a simple PC or several machines can be grouped in the same

Técnicas Reunidas de Automoción has improved its computerised system solution to connect in
network every inspetion place.
A special software manages all the information that circulates through the net, it receives and
evaluates all the data and then it sends that information to the data server for storing.
Also, there is a visual program for the central PC at the office, where we find the data server, that
is in charge of the customer's reception generating his identification, test data reception and the
corresponding inspection reports creation, obtaining statistic data and managing the database. All
the vehicles are identified in every moment through a label with a bar code that is printed by a
thermic printer connected to the central PC and to a bar code scanner placed in each working

Through the fingerprint USB system it is possible to store in the database not just the
customers´ details, but their fingerprints.
Using this system the inspection process accelerates, since it is the only indentification required
to access to all information regarding the customer, personal details, vehicles, inspections,
invoices, etc.
This system assures also that the person who is going to realize the inspection is the one he/ she
claims to be, only the correct identification is needed at the first visit to the inspection centre.
Photo Identification
The photo-identification system takes pictures of the vehicle which is being inspected and
store them in a database.
Thanks to this system the security increases since we can identify the vehicle through its
photograph. The software allows us to compare the vehicle's picture to check with previous
inspections, assuring that the vehicle is the same as the previous one, and if not, indicating by an
alarm the difference.
