Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Power Plant in accordance with the
established standard operation procedure and company’s safety and environmental standard
Perform control room operations thru DCS such as start-up and shutdown of turbine-generator set and
maintain proper voltage, frequency, and loading to ensure reliability and continuous dispatch to the
grid.
Perform start-up and shutdown of low and high voltage switchgears, 1931kVA Cummins Black Start
Diesel Generator, 974kVA Cummins Emergency Diesel Generator, Hybrid Gas Extraction System,
Vacuum, Hot wheel and auxiliary cooling water pumps and Fire Fighting equipments such as 227 Hp
Diesel Engine Fire pump and 220 Hp Electric Driven Fire pumps.
Coordinates control measures during plant upset conditions, including containment, control and
corrective actions.
Coordinate and execute instructions from the Shift Supervisors relative to plant operation and related
activities
Monitor and record plant parameters and inspect auxiliary equipments visually at periodic intervals to
detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustments or lubrication.
Conduct start-up and shutdown including routine and periodic testing of plant auxiliary equipment
such as HVAC System, Air Handling Units, Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Pumps, Motor Driven and
Engine Driven Fire Pumps, valves and Cooling Tower Fan.
Read and interpret process and instrument diagrams (P&ID), single line diagrams, interlock
diagrams, pump curves, mechanical equipment specifications, standards and maintenance
manuals
Conduct Hazard Identification and Energy isolation in high voltage switchgears, pressure vessels
and confined spaces
Conduct issuance of Safe Work Permits in the plant and prepare daily, weekly and periodic
operational reports.
Responsible for the safe operation including start-up and shutdown down of high pressure boiler with
a rated capacity of 100 metric tons per hour of steam.
Operates and monitor the boiler at all times and react to varying load requirements to achieve
optimum volume of steam on time of prescribe quality and in a safe manner
Perform constant visual checks, read gauges and manipulate controls
Assure that hourly meter readings of pressure, temperature and other operating parameters are
recorded
Blow down boiler when conductive solids and impurities exceed specified limits.
Schedule and supervise cleaning of equipment and work areas.
Conduct testing and setting of high pressure safety valves.
Supervise and assist in equipment repairs.
Supervise daily maintenance of boiler including greasing of fans, motors and other operating
mechanisms.
Assist with boiler inspectors during the inspection of boilers for issuance of permits.
Prepare and maintain records on water treatment, oil, chemical consumption and steam production
Coordinate and execute instructions from Shift Supervisors relative to plant operation and related
activities
Perform different maintenance activities for plant mechanical equipments such as high pressure
pumps, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks and valves.
