Now, it is already clear, that endocrine system consist of glands that
secrete chemicals known as hormones into the bloodstream, which
carried throughout the body. Thus, when a hormone in the blood
reaches the target organ, it produces a notable effect that sends
signals all over the body.

C. EXPLORE
-Teacher will ask the student to go to their group and do the activity
on the Science 10 learner’s material: Activity 4: Who is in control?
on pages 242-243. (see attachment for copy of the activity sheets)

Say: The activity will be answered individually in your activity book


but together with their assigned group, brainstorm or think-square-
share in doing the activity. Then, during your presentation, each
group must have their group answer or the consolidated answer of the
group.

- Teacher will remind the standard in group activity. The teacher


will also remind the students about the procedure.

Say: The endocrine system is also known as the “system of checks
and balances” that works to keep the body system healthy. One of the
instances when the endocrine system is working properly is by
sending signals to another gland, which responds by controlling the
chemicals of the first gland.

Say: Because hormones control various body processes. This control

system usually brings about slow changes in the body because
chemical messengers move more slowly than nerve impulses.
