K+12: flop or bop?

Education’s purpose is not only allowing you to access the highest peak of knowledge
but will also provide you long term benefits like status, respect and a title. We all know
that education is a golden ticket in good and a happier life, but how can we achieve this?

From the reading “Education for Better Lives” Philippine Business for Education or (PBEd)
stated that they believe that we can achieve a high-quality of education by our teachers
in terms of their training, certification and participation in international testing. And they
also said that we have long way to go that kids are not learning, and our youth are not
earning. According to PBEd only 2 percent of high school graduates are ready for college.

Which I can also relate to that problem where the time of Benigno Aquino’s institution he
decided to sign the k+12 Program into law, where the years in high school will be added
an additional 2 years for preparation for college, but former President Aquino said that
children who will graduate under K+12 Program will can get work certificate for an
employment, that makes this Program at first amazing but after the first batch graduated
and ready to get an early employment the “PROBLEM” has begun. After some many
evaluations and interviews from the companies in the Philippines they’ve reported that
students who graduated recently that year is not capable of working and lack of working
ethics and not experienced at all, on that matter last month this year rumor has spread
that the government planning to remove K+12 Program because of ineffectiveness of it.

In my opinion the idea of K+12 Program is not a bad one because it will boost and
strengthen the minds of the students not just that, but in my perspective K+12’ s true
agenda is make the student prepared for college. In my 2 years in senior high I don’t see
any changes or boost up happened it’s just more on experimentation. I had once a teacher
in my grade 11 YEAR she’s was our English teacher and she was having trouble teaching
us English because of this following reasons (new curriculum, not her major, she was just
assigned to do it, and rush) look how messy k+12 is, I wasted my 2 years in
experimentation, my take on this will be when it comes to education program government
should be more focus to it or plan it ahead of time and most importantly is that they should
never rush it, they need to create programs for teachers to also make their teaching skills
enhance and effective, because I believe that our teachers is also our foundation for the
greater education.
