First of all, thanks to God because given me to complete student in enterprise

programme (SIEP) just in time. I would like to express my deep sense of gratitude and
appreciation to Haji Abdul Karim bin Haji Ismail for letting me doing SIEP at him place,. I
also would like express my thank for their cooperation, guidance and sharing knowledge to
me. Besides, I also want to thank their staff for helping me in doing SIEP.

I am also grateful to my my family for their endless support and encouragement to me

to complete the task that given by University of Malaysia Kelantan. Then, I would to thank to
academic advisor, Dr Nazahatul Anis bt. Amaludin for her guidance and support. Finally, I
want to give thank to the University of Malaysia Kelantan for give this task which help us to
understanding and learn about the surrounding of business and lecturers that involved in
Student In Enterprise Programme (SIEP) for given good guidance.
 1: INTRODUCTION
EFT 4082 Student in Enterprise Program (SIEP) is the part of compulsory subject that must be
taken by student of University of Malaysia Kelantan. This program not only exclusive to
entrepreneurs students but all the course taken by UMK student also need involved in SIEP.
This is one of the step to expose the student to business world. The learning from classes not
enough for student to gain business knowledge but the students should experience the
surrounding of business. The entrepreneurial skill is best learned through experience. In SIEP
2, the student are given task to know about the marketing, operation and financial of a
company before doing the SIEP 3.

Objective of SIEP
• Generate knowledge as an early preparation to prepare business plans.

• Motivate the spirit of confidence and leadership skills to operate the business.

• Developing skills in human resource management, risk management and planning and
direction for business activities.

1.2.1 Company background
Haji k trading is one of the medium sized oil palm plantations in Pahang. Haji k
trading established by Haji Abdul Karim bin Ismail. Haji Abdul Karim bin Ismail started
involving in oil palm plantation on years 1979 when he was 34 years old by Modal. Initially,
business activities were focused on oil palm plantations. He has 60 acres of oil palm
plantations located at Bukit Damar, Lanchang. Haji Abdul Karim also operated rubber
plantations with 5 acres in Bukit Damar.

2.1 Task

 3: OUTCOME

3.1 Recommendation to company

3.1.1 Run another business

Palm trees do not bud every month. Run another business will increase the income.
Other business that can be do are farming by cultivate goat or cows. Goat or cow
farming can give lot of profit as the demand is high among malay people. Other than
that, other plantation also can be done to increase the income.

3.1.2 Hire more worker

Haji Abdul Karim has a wide oil palm plantation. He already old and do not have
much energy to manage his plantations. Hire more worker to facilitate and speed up
the job. It also can maintain the quality of bud. Meanwhile his worker also can help
him with other job.

3.1.2 Putting animal repellant.

Beside interference from plant pests, wildlife like boar, cow, insect and mouse also can
damge the plant. There are some repellent that can avoid plant being harm by wildlife.
 4: CONCLUSION

There are a lot of thing that can be learn from this SIEP. In the previous task, a student
need to identify the strength and weakness of a company or business. In this SIEP, a student
need to identify further about the business like their financing, operation, management and
product. As a result, I got to know about the operation and management of a product and the
factor influencing of the quality of a product. From my observation, the field of plantation can
also be profitable and can become as a business. Plantation also can become a source of
income for local and increase the economy of Malaysia. The most important things that i can
take away from this SIEP is found a new knowledge and new surroundings. I also able to
learn how to fulfill tasks and be independence in future. I also able to improve my
communication skill and build the confidence.
