2.1 VISION BESTARI SALES AND MARKETING.

A vision statement means what a company want to achieve in the long-run, generally
in a time frame of five to ten years, or sometimes even longer. Vision very important
to acknowledge what a company want to achieve in the future. Bestari sales and
marketing also have their own vision which is to be number one in functional food
ingredients industry in Malaysia.

2.1.1 MISSION STATEMENT BESTARI SALES AND MARKETING.

If a company want to be one of the top of the world, they also need mission statement.
Their mission statement is to create wide variety of super easy, ready to cook
premium HALAL food products that can be easily used by everyone. They want
everyone able to cook delicious food easily. Next, they also want to bring the family
closer with cooking delicious food together at home. Not only it saves the family
unnecessary costs from dining-out, it can brings the family together and closer.

2.2 PLANNING.

Planning is the process of thinking about the activities required to achieve a desired
goal. It is the first and foremost activity to achieve desired result. We have to decide
beforehand, what is to be done, when it to be done is, how it is to be done and who is
going to do it.

2.2.1 STRATEGIC PLANNING.

Strategic planning is the process of documenting and establishing a direction of your


small business by assessing both where you are and where you are going. The
strategic plan gives you a place to record your mission, vision, and values, as well as
you long term goals and the actions plans you will use to reach them.

One of the Bestari planning is in their company, each worker have their own role to
achieve the company goal. For example, accountant, salesman, general manager, the
man that in charge with inventory and other things. So, their company will work
efficiently

2.2.2 TACTICAL PLANNING.

In order to achieve their goal, Bestari Company make their tactical planning. Each
person have their own roles to do for the company. Below are the example of specific
parts of the organization and their role about it.

1) Store manager- in charge of the stock and always update frequently.

2) Salesman- in charge to rise the company profit with selling their product to people.

3) Accountant- audit about the sales every day and inform the manager about it
including profit and loss.

2.3 OPERATIONAL PLANNING.

2.3.1 STANDING PLAN.

For the quality of their products, Bestari Company use single plan to make sure their
customers receive the best product from them. Their workers practices good hygiene
and use quality ingredient in their product. The reason is their product super popular
among home consumers and the HORECA (hotel, restaurant, catering) industry.

In addition, their factory adheres to strict food safety guidelines. They are ISO22000-
certified and also Halal-certified by JAKIM. So, Muslim customers can use their
product.

2.3.2 SINGLE USE PLAN

For reach their goal, they also use single use plan. During special day, such as Hari
Raya, Deepavali and Chinese New Year they will make promotion to attract their
customers. When they lunch their new products, they will give free gift to promote
their new products. This way, their customer will attract to try their new products with
the free gift given by Bestari Company. They also make a video how to use their
products. Many cooking video have been updated in social media using their product.
3.0 ORGANIZING

Organizing is the work a manager performs to arrange and relate the work to be done
so that it may be performed most effectively by people. As we all know, organizing
very important to determine tasks to be done, who will do them and how those tasks
will be managed and coordinated.

3.1 THE ORGANIZING PROCESS.

Organizing also can be defined as a process that initiates implementation of plans by


clarifying job, working relationships and effectively deploying resources for
attainment of identified and goals.

1) The Company’s Mission and Vision.

Bestari company vision is to be number one in functional food ingredients industry in


Malaysia. The vision make them work harder and give their best to achieve it.
Example, they won Top 10 of SME 2019. This award have proven that in the right
track to achieve their vision because the award not receive without hard work and
prove their product is the best in Malaysia.

For the mission, Bestari company want create wide variety of super easy, ready to
cook premium HALAL food products that can be easily used by everyone. To make
the mission accomplished, they have upload super easy cooking recipes videos at
social media. The chef is a famous chef to attract people to see the videos.

2) Determining task, Duties and responsibility.

Each person in Bestari Company have different roles but the similarity is to make the
company run efficiently. The company have divided the group to working together.
The group need to be communicate with each other to make the best decisions.
Without good communication, misunderstandings and disputes among the staff and
the top management will happen.

3) Grouping into sub unit and units.

As a successful company, Bestari Company has divided several departments to


facilitate all the tasks available. Such as marketing department, accounting department
and processing department. An example, marketing department promotes and drive
sales the products of Bestari Company. It is the Marketing Department duty to reach
out to prospects, customers, investors and the community, while creating an
overarching image that represents your company in a positive light.

4) Coordinating Resources.

As a company that produce food ingredients, such as fried chicken powder, salted egg
yolk powder ad tempura, Bestari Company has coordinated the source of raw
ingredients to be processed into their products. They make sure all the raw material in
good quality and halal to use.

5) Monitor and feedback.

The method that Bestari company use monitor and feedback is make a meeting to hear
the problems and find the weakness in their products. In this way, they can improve
their method in better way for their beloved customers.
4.0 LEADING

Leading involves the social and informal sources of influence that can use to inspire
action taken by others. The behavioural sciences have made that many contributions
to understanding this function of management. Personality research and studies of job
attitudes provide important information as how managers can most effectively lead
subordinates.

The managers must understand their subordinates personalities, values, attitudes, and
emotions to become effective at leading. Studies of motivation theory provide
important information about the ways in which workers can be energized to put forth
productive effort.

4.1 POWER.

Power can influence others. Influence is what a manager has when they use power so
as the result in a response to others. Effective managers understand how to use their
power to influence member of the organization to follow their wishes and to
implement processes and procudes that work to achieve organizational goals. These
are types of positional power that Bestari Company used to achieve goals and
influence their employer surrounding:

1) Legitimate power

Definition of legitimate power is derived from the position a person holds in an


organization’s hierarchy. For legitimate power to be exercised effectively, the person
welding it must be deemed to have earned it. Legitimate power is held by a
company’s CEO.

Bestari company use legitimate power with only top manager can require junior
workers to report to the manager and give managers the power to assign duties to their
junior. This shown that only top management have power to make a decisions

2) Reward power.

Reward power can rise the ability of a person to influence the allocation of incentives
in an organization. In an organization, people who wield reward power tend to
influence the actions of other employees. Reward power can be great if to motivate
the employees. But can be greatly demoralize employees and diminish their output if
it is applied through favouritisms.

To motivate their employee, Bestari Company use reward power when the sales reach
their target. The employees will receive their grand bonus for their hard work. This
shown Bestari Company care about their employees and not treat them like a robot
but a family.

4.2 TYPES OF PERSONAL POWER.

1) Expert power.

Expert power is a high level of knowledge or a great level of skill that people around
you see, need and want. Bestari Company has an organization that shows the strength
of members in various management such as Maintenance manager, production
manager, and account manager. To be manager, they need to have skills in their
profession. The reason is to make their department doing a good work for the Bestari
Company.
5.0 CONTROLLING.

Controlling means monitoring employee’s activities, determining whether the


organization is on target toward its goals, and making correction as necessary. Control
is the operation within in an organization to achieve a goal. Besides controlling
means the management of the organization is responsible for deciding predetermined
standards and making sure that performance of the employees match with the
standards set by the management.

5.1 THE CONTROLLING PROCESS.

Bestari Company have their own controlling process which is to make sure them
consistent with the expectations established to achieve their goal. These are types
controlling process that have been used by Bestari Company.

1) Setting Standards for Performance.

Bestari Company has standards for the performance of all processes by producing
products using quality raw material. This to make sure customers always receive a
quality product from them.

2) Measuring Actual Performance.

When the performance of managers needs to be measured, objective analysis becomes


more difficult. A manager’ performance should not be calculated in amounts. It can
only calculated by the attitudes of the workers, their morale to work, the development
in the attitudes regarding the physical environment, and their communication with the
superiors. It is also sometimes done through various reports like weekly, monthly,
quarterly, and yearly reports.

3) Comparing Actual Performance with Standards

Bestari Company in the right track to meet their vision and mission. The reasons is
many Malaysian have their products at home. We also can found many Bestari
products at supermarket. Bestari Company also has successfully. Penetrated overseas
markets and established good relations with their suppliers who are able to use
consumer resources and demand.
5.2 TYPES OF CONTROL.
There are 3 types of control and what type is used is determined primarily by the work
phase. The control needed which is feed- forward controls, concurrent control and
feedback control.
1) Feed- forward control.
Feed forward control is a mechanism in a system for preventing problems before they
occur by monitoring performance inputs and reacting to maintain and identified level.
Bestari use this control to find the problem before it arise. They don’t want to lose
their profit.
2) Concurrent control.
Concurrent controls involve identifying and preventing problems in an organization as
they occur. This mean system are monitored in real time. Concurrent controls begin
with standards and all employee activity is measured against the standard.
Bestari Company will ensure that the products produced are of high quality and halal.
In processing, Bestari Company will take care of all cleanliness in warehouse and
factories.
3) Feedback controls
Bestari Company will take feedback from their customer when they lunch new
products. This action to change the weakness from their product to perfect product
with their customers taste. They don’t want to disappoint their customers.
6.0 CONCLUSION.
In conclusion, Bestari company established in 2004. Bestari was
created as a sister company of the Synerchem Group with the sole intention of
making cooking easier for everyone. Armed with vast experience in the food
ingredients and food manufacturing industry with other sister companies
within the Synerchem Group, Bestari was able constantly create and innovate
its products. However, the road to where BESTARI is today certainly wasn’t
an easy one, as many companies who started from zero can echo. Fast
forward, to 2019, today BESTARI has over 40 SKUs in its arsenal. Future
plans have already been made, with a new office-factory- warehouse coming
close to completion.
