FILM CITY
AIM:

Create a major hotspot in the film city which would attract both the tourist and film makers
Creating a platform for regional cinemas with amalgamation of art and culture, this would also guide me through the role
of an architect in motion pictures.
The Art of Moving Picture could be testing ground for new architectural forms and concepts. Film also shapes public
perceptions of Architecture, As a mass medium, film plays an important role in the way in the way of architecture is
received and interpreted. Even Architecture Graduates are Animating the Film Industry.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY:

This study will enable a clear understanding of the concept of film making and also various departments involved under
film making, this will also give an idea about buildings in film city both permanent and temporary (outdo or film sets)
OBJECTIVES:
Develop a planning scheme which is simple and carefully defined where the public, semipublic, private areas are.
To achieve maximum transparency of space with intermingling of indoor and outdoor
spaces.
Design with combination of Natural, Creative, Enjoyable and a relieving casual and professional environment
Create another major hot-spot in the film city for tourism.

ARCHITECTURAL SCOPE:

Site planning of the whole film city with relation to both indoor and outdoor cities will be a challenge. and also the
challenge to isolate the spaces in terms of privacy because it will even serve as a tourist spot.
Set designs in spite of just focusing on the built form I would like explore about the process and making of outdoor sets.
Street Scapes, Landscapes, film studios would also be a major part of design

REMINISCE OF MEMORY-DEMENTIA CARE

INTRODUCTION
We spend our lives making memories; going over them again and again till they have hardwired into
our minds. They are the measures of our lives.
What are we without the aid of our memories? They help us to learn, to laugh and to remember.
So imagine waking up one day to have completely forgotten these events. Imagine not being able to
remember the people you love, the life you have lived up to that point and imagine living with a
chronic and psychosomatic condition like dementia.
The world’s population is ageing and with all the new medical revelations and breakthroughs, the life
expectancy has increased, resulting in a gradual increase in the overall population.
However, this increase in life expectancy coupled with the change in lifestyle has also resulted in an
increase in the number of people being diagnosed with Dementia, especially Alzheimer’s.

AIM OF THE PROJECT

The aim of this project is to design a special care facility for people living with dementia and other
disorders under its umbrella.
It will provide flexible, part-time care apart from residential care, creating a different kind of relationship
between staffs, patients and their family members.
It will also have facility that caters to the training of the nurses and the caregivers.
It will be one of a kind facility which will help spread awareness.
Even though a building doesn’t have the ability to cure dementia, it can improve the quality of the
users.

OBJECTIVES
To spread awareness about the disease and to provide a state of the art facility.
The aim is to make the life of the patient easier and better using architectural design and its elements as
catalysts.
Studying about about various factors like colour schemes, materials, etc and then implementing the
same in the design.
METHODOLOGY OF STUDY
The research methodology will comprise of a profound study of the signs, causes and characteristics of
dementia.
It will also help understanding of how dementia affects the person and in turn the family members and
the caregiver, by having a dialogue with dementia affiliated families.
The study on three major criteria’s- contextual analyses, programmatic analysis and formal analysis.
The contextual analysis- macro level (city accessibility, no. of hospitals in vicinity)
The programmatic analysis- micro scale (facilities and zoning)
The formal analysis – special context and design philosophy and study of materials.
