Setup Guide

The prerequisites for the using the packs:

Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen for PC only and a registered version of VoiceAttack software, both of which must be
installed. Note! The voice pack will not work with a trial version of VoiceAttack. Microsoft Windows 10 is the
chosen platform - US & UK versions of Win7/8 will also work providing voice recognition is available (Win 7 pro
including language support for voice recognition for other language support). A microphone (Headset & mic for
best results).
The plugin and profiles for Elite Dangerous (Singularity), Star Citizen (Event Horizon) and No Man’s Sky (Unity) come
in the HCS Tools rather than the voice packs. This way it’s easier to update them and it’s only a small download :)

Once added to your account, you can just download it if you need to update the profile/plugin. You only need to
purchase it the once.
NOTE: You will need to have run and closed Voice attack at least once before running the installer. This sets the
sounds and apps paths it will use. The installer will then be able to detect the correct paths automatically.
On any download link you should see your name in the top right corner. If you click it, it will display a page that lets
you claim your account. Once it’s claimed any voice pack(s) under the email address used to purchase your packs(s)
will be available to download via a webpage :)

If you already have “VoiceAttack” software and have trained Microsoft Speech Recognition
skip to step 4.
1. Plug in your microphone, then, go to your Windows Control Panel and select ‘Speech Recognition’.
Choose the option to ‘Train your computer to understand you better’.
2. Download the latest standard version of “VoiceAttack”, install to default path and run the program. (non beta!)
3. Register VoiceAttack - Click the options/spanner icon and enter your registration code for the VoiceAttack
software. Only the fully registered version of VoiceAttack will support the voice packs.
4. Make sure VoiceAttack software is closed - Run the install.exe and install the voice pack. The installer should auto
detect the correct path.
5. When the HCS Tools installer runs it will install the latest plugins and automatically import the latest
Singularity.vap and Event Horizon.vap in to voice attack for you. When you first run VoiceAttack after installing HCS
Tools, you’ll have a pop up message asking if you wish to import the “HCS Profiles.vax”, clicking yes will import the
package and you’ll be given the option to launch voice attack. Your existing customiser settings should have been
retained :)
6. If you are installing a voice pack, it will always download the latest HCS Tools and install as
described in step 5. So you’ll always be up to date :)
7. Keyboard bindings for Elite Dangerous have to be set up in “game controls” manually, or using the ‘Customiser’.
NOTE! You are entirely responsible for setting up the key presses required by the profile. That means, make sure
you add keys for everything in Elite
Dangerous in-game control settings in the spare column of the binds.
Our ‘CUSTOMISER’ can help, but HCS takes no responsibility for it’s use.
Event Horizons uses a modified Advanced Custom Key binds, please see page 24 of the Event Horizon reference
guide for more information.
8. ALWAYS MAKE SURE VOICE ATTACK IS RUNNING BEFORE YOU LAUNCH THE GAME. - You can now easily add
additional Packs (See the notes at the top).
9. If something doesn’t work, or, you get stuck, get in touch by email - info@theqnn.com, or, visit
forum.hcsvoicepacks.com – There is also a Discord channel for live support, where you can get valuable information
from our volunteer support group and other players.
10. We advise setting the “Target” option to “Active Window” on voice attack for best
performance.
