Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Gandhi
spent more than fifty years in public life and
is best known for leading hundreds of
millions of people against one of the
greatest empires in the history of the world.

•From March 12th to April
6th
of 1930 Gandhiji led the
Dandi salt march.
•This march was in protest
against the British salt
laws,
in which Indians had to pay
tax whenever they made

their own salt.

for over one year.
• This incident reflects his

leadership qualities of

• The mill hands case

was getting worse

the labours of
Ahmedabad, had
been long agitating
for an increment.
• Gandhiji explained to

the labourers
condition
of a successful strike,
to follow non-
violence, not to give

labourers were giving

up, he himself
continued the strike.
• This incident reflects
that Gandhiji was a
social charismatic
leader, through which
he sacrificed his living

for the well being of

v He said-”There are many causes I am prepared
to die but no cause that I am ready to
kill”.

Ø For centuries people have been debating
that leaders are born or made but every
individual has its own believe above the
fact.
Ø It turns out to be little of both that

leaders are sort of born and always


made.
Ø Some qualities are there inborn in a person,

as a leader but it constantly improves when


leaders get feedback from their followers ,
then only their behaviour gets modified
which gives them better result.
Gandhiji’s ideology in today’s
context

Ø Gandhiji’s life was not governed by policies .


It is governed by principles and values.

Ø Gandhiji’s life was driven by his religion:


truth and non-violence and life of service
to others.

Ø Gandhiji’s contribution is tremendous in

world peace and humanity, that he


is inescapable.
