At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

 State the different hypotheses explaining the origin of the solar system
 Cite and profile the other members of the solar system
 Illustrate the parts of the sun and the phases of the moon
 Discuss the life cycle of the stars
 Explain the current information about the solar system

B. Review Previous Lesson

The teacher reviews the previous lesson by asking the learners the question below:

“What have you learned from the previous lesson that we had?

C. Presentation of the Lesson

1. Motivation:

 The teacher will present some jumbled letters


 The teacher will let the students form a word from the jumbled letters and will let
them guess the topic for the day

2. Establishing a purpose for the Lesson

The teacher will ask the students to read the objectives of the lesson for the students to
be aware and give focus on the given topic for the day.

The objectives are:

 State the different hypotheses explaining the origin of the solar system
 Cite and profile the other members of the solar system
 Illustrate the parts of the sun and the phases of the moon
 Discuss the life cycle of the stars
 Explain the current information about the solar system
3. Lesson Proper/Development
 The teacher employs lecture method in delivering the topic
 The students will be asked by the teacher regarding their prior knowledge about
the solar system
 The teacher facilitates the students in sharing their ideas in the class
 The teacher will present the following concepts through a PowerPoint
presentation
- Hypotheses explaining the origin of the solar system
-The planets of the solar system
-Other Members of the solar system
-Parts of the sun
-Phases of the moon
-Life cycle of the stars

D. Evaluating Learning

 The teacher will evaluate the learning of the students through paper-pencil test.

E. Assignment

The teacher will let the students research on some current information and discoveries
about the solar system. They will share their output in the class.
