    INTRODUCTION

    Museums are often considered as uninteresting place by some people. However, it is


    undeniable that museums are one of the most popular destinations for the tourists (Yoshimura,
    Sobolevsky, Ratti, Girardin, Carrascal, Blat, & Sinatra, 2014). Museum visit can help individuals
    to get a better understanding about history and certain culture as it is where artistic and historical
    objects were placed. It is believed that museum may provide valuable experiences and knowledge
    to the visitors. In order for the visit to become beneficial, the visitors itself need to know and need
    to understand the purpose of their visit. The way they behave in the museum usually can indicate
    their understanding on the visit. One of the best ways to study the behavior of the visitors is by
    doing an observation towards them.

    Observation on museum’s visitors is actually not a new thing. Many observations have been
    conducted by past researcher to study the behavior of the visitors during their museum visit. One
    of the researches is the research conducted by Yoshimura, Sobolevsky, Ratti, Girardin, Carrascal,
    Blat and Sinatra (2014). The purpose of their study was to analyze the behavior of the visitors in
    The Louvre Museum. The museum was often crowded with people, so they want to study the
    impact of the situation towards the visitors. They have collected their data by using noninvasive
    Bluetooth sensors. Apparently, the situation did not have effect the visitors as both short-stay and
    long-stay visitors behave similarly. The findings have contributed to the undertanding of the
    museum’s visitors. It was concluded that by understanding the behaviors of visitors, the museum’s
    environment and visitor experience can be improved.

    In addition, Bollo and Pozollo (2005) have conducted a study to analyse behaviour and usage
    models within the museum space.They analysed the implications of time, attention and the
    capacity of the visitors to preserve the information and knowledge that they gained during the visit.

    It is important to conduct an observation in order to study the behavior of the museum’s visitors
    so that we can evaluate their actions as the process of understanding the new information.
