Introduction

Airtel is one amongst the 5  operators  within


the telecommunications  personal  sector of  Asian country.  It’s  a
venture of Bharti Airtel LTD.  Initially  it had been  introduced with
a brand  WARID  telecommunication  in  might ten, 2007. Then as
Airtel  Associate in Nursing  now's a  freelance product whole of Robi, as
Robi Airtel LTD  is the  license of the brand Airtel in Bangladesh.
Warid telecommunication sold  its 30%  share to Singapore-based Airtel
Holdings Pte LTD  for about USD 84 million. This report  is ready  on  the
idea  of  sensible  expertise in Airtel Bangladesh LTD.

Airtel Bangladesh is one of the leading telecom industry in Bangladesh. In

this report, we will have an overview of the company’s outsources and how

they have reached in their current position overcoming different obstacles

and barriers within the market.

• Airtel carries a weaker network coverage compared to it competitors
• Has a high debt.
• Consumers aren’t really satisfied 
• Did not own their own network towers until very recently which resulted in not being
able to provide network throughout the country
• Lack of HR in the Help – Line 

Opportunities
• Offers better 3G packages than its rivals 
• Is a developing organization 
• Airtel’s financial outcome can embark a high level of profit from their cost reduction
efforts. 
• Updated environment friendly technology

• Recession in the economy of a country. 
• Health risks due to mobile usage

Pestle Analysis

Political Factors: Telecommunication industries are usually influenced by the political issue, bundle
rates and regular rates matter and vary when there’s any political issue. People consume less when
there’s any issue going on.

Economic Factors: It has a big hand over the telecommunications industry. If the economic growth of
a country faces a boom then the number of consumers & buying power of any industry will be higher
but if the country faces a recession in the economy, telecommunications industry will most likely have a
reverse impact.

Social Factors: Consumers consume mobile phones and purchases different kinds of packages to
indulge themselves in the social community, to connect with other people socially. And the amount of
purchase increases mostly whenever there is any festival where industries provides various packages to
choose from depending on the festive season.. Telecom industries are all about social bonding hence
they release various offers for consumers to achieve a higher revenue.

Legal Factors: It plays a very important role in the telecom sector. Airtel Bangladesh has to follow
certain rules and regulations given by the “BTRC” before inaugurating a service it has to abide by the
principle standards provided by the “BTRC” (Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission)
for eg: rates for calls, SMS rates, and data connection speed etc. And if they fail to follow, they’ll be
taken legal actions.

Technological Factors: Technology sector of any telecom industry lies under the IT department. It is
mostly all about technologies and how updates system is to provide most updated features. It has made
a vast change over a few years and now various programs can be easily done through the strong base of
technology.

Environmental Factors: Environmental part has an essential role in the industry. First and foremost,
Airtel Bangladesh has to make sure they aren’t’t causing any harm to the environment through their
organisation. Apart from that, the revenue has a day to day impact depending on the weather on a
particular day.

1. Bargaining Power of Buyers –
- Customers have 6 different operators to choose in Bangladesh
- Some of those are comparably cheaper
- The priorities are more for the people of Bangladesh
2. Bargaining Power of Suppliers-
- It depends on the individual brand name or image as well as company’s size and
resect in the mobile industry.
- The major clients are Gp, Robi, Teletalk and BTCL
3. Threat of New Entrants-
- Higher as new organizations have the access to enter the market to give
competition because of few barriers to entry
- Airtel created significant image position and economies of scale in network
coverage.
- The huge tax and rules for sim cards set by the government are difficult for new
entrants.
4. Threat of Substitute-
- Higher since there are a number of rivals out in the market, through which
consumers can easily change because of lower cost. I.E, Airtel, Teletalk, Robi,
Bangla Link.
- The threats of Substitute is weak in Bangladesh.
- Substitute which can replace are mostly related to the factors of innovation.
5. Rivalry among Existing Companies-
- Certainly high because of immense competition to become the leading
communication provider among the rivals.
- Competition might drive average revenue lower.
- Every company will reduce call rates to compete.

Conclusion

Telecom industries deals with the most crucial part of an economy of a country. It is
mandatory for them to provide a quality full network for blooming the economy and
also flourishing their own business and organization in the country.

With the massive growth of telecom sector in the country, Airtel Bangladesh has hold a
good reputation in the market having their customers support. It is vitally important for
them to attract new customers along with the remaining clients and having a good
amount of profit.

Businesses are changing worldwide and it is quite difficult to cope up with the
competition. Airtel Bangladesh has coped up with their skilled employees side by side
with keeping the technologies updated providing prompt service. It is highly efficient,
budget friendly, environment friendly, keeping their quality full service in mind, if they
keep on doing so, they’ll lead to a wonderful profit satisfying almost the whole nation.
