1. Introduction
1.1. Our History
EDU-Zone International Entrance Preparation Center (EZIEPT) Pvt Ltd was established in
2015 in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. The institution inspires every dreamy individual
to tackle the best for fulfilling and accomplishing the dream to be a medical professional in
future.

1.2. Our Development


Starting its journey from a small office in the heart of the capital city, EDU-Zone International
Entrance Preparation (EZIEPT) has now grown and expanded as the most popular medical
education service provider in Nepal.
We are the largest medical education consultant in Nepal, working as a representative of
different medical and dental colleges in Nepal, Bangladesh, Philippines, India and China. We
were able to admit the highest number of students in different medical and dental colleges in
Nepal in the academic year 2016/17, 2017/2018, 2018/2019/ & 2019/2020 respectively.

4. MBBS in Nepal

MBBS, also known as "Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery", is a course that is
pursued to be a doctor. Candidates who have an interest in curing patients and thus serving
mankind often take up the course of MBBS. The course is about four-and-a-half years followed
by internship of one year, which becomes five-and-a-half years. After earning the MBBS
degree, one moves on to become a physician and can practice as a doctor anywhere in the
country. The career is emotionally and intellectually rewarding one.
Individuals can also specialize in any medical field and pursue higher education as well. Many
students are interested in studying abroad and also pursuing their career as a doctor out of
Nepal.
Nepal has mainly two Universities Tribhuvan University (T.U) and Kathmandu University
(K.U) and two autonomous institutions BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) &
Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS).

4.1. TIBHUVAN UNIVERSITY

Tribhuvan University (TU), established in 1959, is the first University to conduct medical
courses in Nepal. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) was established in 1972 under Tribhuvan
University with the mandate and the responsibility of training all the categories of health
manpower needed in the country.

Eligibility criteria for Tribhuvan university


• Completed +2 level in Science (Biology Group) or equivalent, with English, Biology,
Physics and Chemistry as main subjects. Minimum of 50% marks (or GPA 2.4) in
aggregate in 10+2 or equivalent and not less than 50% marks (C+ in Grading)
separately in each subject of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).
• Eligible candidates desirous of pursuing MBBS program must take the Medical
Entrance Examination conducted by Institute of Medicine, TU. & should qualify for
that particular academic year.
• All students including international students must take and pass the Medical Entrance
Examination conducted by Institute of Medicine.
• There is no provision of age bar.

Selection Procedure
• Merit list of TU Entrance Examination for both Nepali and foreign candidates.
• Nomination from Ministry of Education (MOE) under scholarship is done on the basis
of Merit List published by IOM.

• Inside Valley: INRs 40,23,250 +INRs 10,00000 (varies according to colleges)
• Outside Valley: INRs 44,36,025/ +INRs 10,0000 (varies according to colleges)
• Subsidized: NRs 3,54,337/- (Only for Nepali Citizens)
Other Charges
• Tuition Fee for whole MBBS or P.G. Course varies according to colleges and
Universities.
• University Registration fee, Examination fee, Medical Council fee will be charged as
per rule.
• Registration fee and Admission fee for MBBS course NRs 1,34,950.00 (IRs 84,343.75)
yearly.
• Caution money NRs. 80,000.00 (IRs 50,000.00) refundable.
• Hostel charge: single accommodation room having attached bathroom with hot & cold
water.
• Small pantry facilities NRs. 64,000.00 (IRs 40,000.00) Per annum including free
Electricity up to 15 units.
• Food charge: NRs.73,600.00 (IRs 46,000.00) Annually.
Note: The above-mentioned fee structure varies according to different colleges & subject to
change from time to time.

Mode of Payment:
Cash payment should be made at the office of the College or by A/C payee Bank Draft drawn

Selection for scholarships in Maharajgunj Medical Campus (MMC) is done by IOM itself.
Selection for Scholarships in private medical colleges is done by MOE. Total 45% of the seats
in MOE is reserved for the candidates those who are Janajati, Madheshi, Dalit, Women, etc.
4.2. Kathmandu University
As a precursor to the establishment of a University, a team of dedicated people first established
Kathmandu Valley Campus in 1985 to provide education in Intermediate of Science (I. Sc).
The same team proposed the establishment of Kathmandu University. After thorough
discussion on the proposal in the Parliament, Kathmandu University was granted by an Act of
Parliament on December 11, 1991.

Kathmandu University School of medical Sciences (KUSMS) is an institution established in


collaboration between Kathmandu University and Dhulikhel Hospital. KUSMS launched its
own constituent MBBS program in August 2001.

• Completed 10+2 years of education or equivalent qualification with Minimum 2.4 GPA
in aggregate and minimum C+ in Physics, Chemistry and Biology separately with
minimum C in other subjects
• Completed +2 level in Science or equivalent with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
and not less than 50% of marks in each subject of Physics, Chemistry and Biology
(PCB).
• Completed requisite course equivalent to +2 Science (Biological Group) with Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and English as main subjects after Certificate Level in Health
Sciences from Dhulikhel Medical Institute, Kathmandu University and having
minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and not less than 50% of marks in each subject
of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).

Entrance Examination and interview for Nepali Citizens and Foreign Citizens and Nomination
from Nepal Government. Admission will be made on the basis of performance in the Entrance
Test followed by interview. Interview will be taken by the concerned

4.2. BPKIHS
B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) was established on Jan 18, 1993 and
subsequently upgraded as an autonomous Health Sciences University on Oct 28, 1998 with a
mandate to work towards developing socially responsible and competent health workforce,
providing health care & involving in innovative health research.
