A. Preparation

a) Concreting Plan

Method and procedure of concreting shall be planed prior to concrete casting in consideration of
following items.

1. Method of casting or pouring

Elements to be cast Method of pouring

Lean concrete Direct shoot from the truck mixer and/or use wheel barrows

Foundation /Footings Direct shoot from the truck mixer and/or use wheel barrows

Substructure columns Direct shoot from the truck mixer and/or use wheel barrows

Ground floor slab Direct shoot from the truck mixer and/or use wheel barrows

Super structure Hoist and/or wheel barrows

Beams and slab Hoist and Wheel barrow

2. Required concrete volume and Grade of concrete.

3. Casting sequence or layout with quantity
4. Temporary access or platform for concrete place

b) Following equipment shall be prepared in stand-by condition prior to casting concrete.

 Vibrator and other tools for concrete compaction
 Tools for concrete pouring such as hoe/level bar/trowel
 Level machine & staff
 Lighting for night time work
 Polythene for covering purpose in dry or rainy weather

c) Temporary access/platform for casting concrete shall be provided prior to casting concrete.
d) Inside form shall be thoroughly cleaned prior to casting concrete.

B. Mixing and Delivery

 Mixing shall be carryout out by concrete mixture by weight batching.
 Use approved mix design for each grade of structural concrete.
 Trial mix shall be carried out for each structural concrete grades.
 Testing shall be carried out by slump testing and casting concrete test cubes.
 Delivery shall be done using concrete truck mixture.

C. Casting

a) Pouring & Compaction

Pouring shall be carried out by taking care of following items.
 Concrete shall not be poured from higher elevations that cause segregation.
 Concrete shall not be poured at one place intensively.
 Concrete shall be poured layer by layer with proper compaction.

b) Compaction shall be carried out by taking care of following items.

 Compaction must be done as concrete is placed,
 The Vibrator shall be long enough to reach and enter into the layers of concrete under
the one being compacted.
 Touching of form face and reinforcement with the poker is prevented.

f) Level & Finishing

 Level of concrete shall be checked by level machine or gauge
 Surface finishing shall be carried out as per architectural requirement.
 No final finishing can begin until the bleed water has dried up.

D. Curing
Curing is done just after finishing the concrete surface, as soon as it will not be damaged. The
approved curing compounds or water shall be curing agent.

6.0 QUALITY CONTROL PLAN / INSPECTION

For the purpose of quality controlling, the inspection and testing procedures will be used at the
site to keep the records and to maintain the quality of the construction work at site. In which all
the criteria’s will be addressed and checked, so that the construction work will have the same
quality throughout the project. Once the Contractors’ Engineer carried out the inspection,
Engineers’ representative will carry out his inspection along with the Contractors’ Engineer and
make the final approval to proceed the work.

7.0 SAFETY AND RISK ASSESSMENT

 Safety induction has to implement prior to execute the activity

 Proper PPE (helmet, safety shoes, hand glove, etc) should be worn.
 All equipment shall comply to safety standard.
 Machines should be control safe way.
