Purpose: The objective is to think aloud and organize the activities required to achieve a desired
goal and at the same time articulate them.
List five goals you want to achieve in your college life and explain briefly.
Graduate on time.
To develop myself.
Enjoy and cherish every moment.
Be healthy, lose weight and eliminate the fats in my body.
I want to witness a normal delivery of twin babies and I‟m the one who is performing the
actual cord clamping, delivery of placenta and cord care.
Think of five things that you know would hinder these goals to come true.
I don‟t know if I would graduate on time especially today in our situation that we are
experiencing health crisis that hinders our classes.
I can‟t figure out what should I do and where to start.
I only focus in one thing.
Too lazy to have a daily diet and exercise.
It‟s rare to have a normal delivery of babies.
List what do you think would be the “key” to achieve your goals.
If ever this ECQ is still going on, the best thing to do is to self-study because I believe
that studying is a continuous process to learn.
Self-assessment is the first thing to do so I can develop a process to implement it to
myself.
It‟s okay to focus in one thing but I should never forget to enjoy what I‟m doing.
Encourage myself and stay positive that I will achieve it.
If there would be a chance, I will grab the opportunity immediately.
Activity #2
Kindly read, Reading 7 entitled: TRUE FUNCTIONS OF EDUCATION, on a one whole sheet
paper please answer the following:
Purpose:
Give respect to our heroes and heroines who have done big things for the
Philippines who sacrificed and gave everything for the sake of the Philippines. Study our
history and teach it to others, to our future young Filipino kids, that they will never forget
where they belong. Being aware of the issues in our country also shows love in our
country. We must be aware and updated on the significant issues happening in the
country. Extend help to the needy fellowmen. Showing love in our country is also by
patronizing and supporting our own products. The Philippines has rich resources to create
quality goods and products. The manpower services we provide are also globally
competitive. Our economy will improve more if we ourselves patronize our own products
which characterize our creativity, resourcefulness, and industry. Speak out our own
language. Using our own language is manifesting and preserving our national identity. It
is our unique means of communicating and interacting with our fellowmen. Our language
is an important tool to achieve further unity and national development.
2. How are the times then and now? What do you think will happen in the future?
Before the pandemic happened, our living is in normal state wherein we can do
everything we want without restrictions. We can go anywhere freely, spend a lot of
money in everything, eat every delicious food, go to work and school to learn. But now,
everything has limitation even in the field of learning. It‟s hard for us, students, to just
comply with the requirements given to us and the essence of quality education isn‟t there
anymore. I don‟t think what will happen in our future if it will still continue. Maybe the
things we used to do will not be the same anymore, like what they have said, „the new
normal‟. We learned a lot of things today despite with our situation that human health is
important and so our planet too. Everything that surrounds us can affect us so what can
we do is to protect and conserve our environment and all other living things to prevent
this kind of health crisis.
3. How can education make this country better than before?
Ron Lewis once said, “Quality education is one of the most important this we can
do for future generation”. Despite the fact that we, the students, spend more than 12 years
in a school program, we possibly will not put on any remarkable improvements in
proficiency if at all the quality of our schooling were poor. An educated population leads
to innovation, superior levels of efficiency, and expanded economic development. If we
have a quality education, we can build a generation who can think critically so as to
decipher intricate problems, communicate efficiently, work collaboratively, and learn
how to learn.
