1. How can NSTP-CWTS students serve the community despite of our pandemic situation
today?
As part of a community, each of us has roles to perform. NSTP-CWTS students are
focusing on outdoor activities and community outreach. The situation we are experiencing
today, the pandemic, really caused lots of changes in our community. There are adjustments
made like observing social distancing, wearing face masks and face shields. Due to this, we are
not allowed to have social interactions or even go outside our houses which has a significant
role for NSTP-CWTS students. But despite the occurring problem, there are still many ways we,
students, are capable of helping and contributing to our community.
Isolation and social separation can be uncomfortable, inconvenient, and even sad. Following
public health recommendations, however, can make a significant impact in preventing the
spread of coronavirus. The best approach to help yourself and your community are to stay
healthy. We can check up on our neighbors from a distance. For your elderly neighbors, we can
assist them by running an errand for their groceries. In this way, we can make others feel that
they are not alone, that we are all in this. We can also make donations. Since we are still
students, we are capable of donating money. But we can give food for the food pantry in our
community which helps those who cannot provide for themselves. Blood donations also help
our community specifically, in hospitals that are the ones fighting the coronavirus.
Social media has become part of our everyday life because of the coronavirus. It has now
become a means of learning information around us, entertainment, business, and educational
purposes. We can't deny that there are also misinformation wandering in social media. As a
responsible student, correcting these misinformation is one way of helping our community.
Through social media, we can also raise funds and donations for the needs of our community. If
there are local programs that support the community, at any possibilities, let us volunteer and
become a part of it which could help the community. We must show our front liners our love
and support for them by respecting them, hearing their concerns, and heeding their words that
covid-19 is real.
Also, supporting our local businesses by ordering their foods or buying their goods could be one
way of helping our community. But most of all, take good care of yourself. If you are not
healthy, you also won't be able to help your community. Nevertheless, if you are healthy and
able, you could become a great asset and help in the community despite the pandemic.
Our communities rely on us to bring about change in innovative and fairways at this vital time.
Simple ways as these, we can contribute to our community. Fighting Covid-19 may be difficult,
but if we all band together, we might be able to overcome this obstacle. Being a student is not a
hindrance for us not to participate and become a part of the community. In all possibilities
wherein you could help, help.
2. What can you contribute to help achieve-mission and vision of NSTP-CWTS in our school
despite our pandemic situation today?
Our NSTP-CWTS mission states that the NSTP is a dynamic service that provides
capability enhancement for civil welfare geared towards encouraging youth in improving their
skills, knowledge and attributes on various endeavors developing their interest in community
service and responsiveness in attaining peace towards nation building. For vision, it states that
the NSTP envisions building up valuable and effective members of Citizen Armed Forces and
National Service Corps who may serve as agents towards attaining quality of life, sustaining
peace, unity, cooperation and growth. These statements guide us, students, on what we must
do to reach our goal and that s to make our world a better place.
For me to be able to contribute in our community, I must first become a better person.
We are having a limited access with everything we do right now in because of the pandemic. At
this time, I am taking this chance of pandemic since I am at home to slowly improve myself at
it’s very best. Firstly, changing my negative attitudes and characteristic one at a time. In
particular reason for the circumstance of something’s pushing me back to the best of what I can
do. Being able to improve myself would help become even more confident to face people. This
makes me motivated to help and participate in my community. So, changing my attitude first
would be a helpful start.
Being diligent and passionate with my studies is one thing I can contribute. As Dr. Jose
Rizal say, “Ang mga kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan”. Doing my best at school is for me to learn
and be able to apply it now and in the near future. Having a job would be a lot more convenient
in helping our community. So, as of now, one thing that I can assure is that I am doing my best
in my studies. But not only in my studies, also my duty as a daughter and a part of the family.
They say, everything starts at home. I am honing my productivity at home so that when I go
outside a bigger world, I would be ready for any greater circumstances. Home is where I am
able to experiment things of what I am capable, improve my skill and way of life.
Starting my journey on a bigger scale, I am now participating in our church as a leader
our youth. In our church, we have care groups wherein, this is the first step. We must first learn
to take care and help our group members and then we continue to contribute more things as
we unite. We then were able to do community service in our church by giving daily goods to our
cared family. Sharing Gods words to other people and offering them prayers, both adult and
youth. Offering snacks to children. And becoming a light to other people. I can say that I
wholeheartedly was able to help other people.
These are the things I am capable of contributing for the meantime. But when time
comes that I am even more capable of contributing, the lesson and experience I’ve learned as a
student will always be with me to guide me. Being able to contribute even more great things is
what I looked up for. That is why I am doing the best that I can today.
