    INTRODUCTION

    This system is designed to help the hostel management by saving the


    records of the students. It saves a lot of time as it was very difficult to
    find the record of the students and the pending bills manually. This
    system keeps record of all the bills and issues the notifications
    accordingly. It also helps the students to lodge complaint at any time.
    It also makes the administrator more efficient.

    a. Purpose of SRS document


    The purpose of this SRS document is to provide a detailed overview
    of our software product, its parameters and goals. This document
    describes the project's target audience and its user interface,
    hardware and software requirements. It defines how our client, team
    and audience see the product and its functionality.

    b. Objectives of the application


    • Students can register their complaints.
    • Admin can edit notice board and each student can view it.
    • Hostel secretary can calculate hostel fee.
    c. Scope of the application
    The software product “Hostel Management System” will be an
    application that will be used for maintaining the records in an
    organized manner and to replace old paper working. The aim of this
    application is to automate the hostel management for smooth working
    of the hostel by automating almost all the calculations.
     Hostel Management System is designed for hostel like (Schools
    and Universities).
     It makes handling of data easy.

    2. Overall description

    This software product is made to improve the services for all the
    students of the hostel. This also reduce the manual work of the
    persons in admin penal and the bundle of registers that were searched
    to find the information of any student. Through this application you
    can check the personal profile of all the current students within few
    minutes. The system will help you to check the students hostel dues.
    And also, to lodge a complaint and also to send a notice.
    a. Application perspective
    The HMS is fully independent product. Our product is not a part of
    any other system. We have user interfaces. User interfaces will be
    divided in two parts:
     Administrator Interfaces
     Student Interfaces
    The following are the main features that are included in HMS

     Administrator account: The system allows the user to create


    their accounts in the system and provide features of updating and
    viewing profiles.
     Number of users being supported by the system: Though the
    number is precisely not mentioned but the system is able to support
    many online users at a time.
     Search: search is simply local search engine based on key
    words.
