Selena Quintanilla, known as the "Queen of Tejano Music," Selena was a beloved Latin artist who

Selena Quintanilla made her record debut in the 80s, becoming an award-winning artist on the
Latin music scene with albums like Amor Prohibido and Selena Live. In 1995, she was killed by the

Early caree
Selena Quintanilla was born on April 16, 1971 in Lake Jackson,
Texas. Selena was the Queen of Tejano, a type of Mexican
music that incorporated other styles, such as the country.
Sometimes she was also known as the "Mexican Madonna" for
her sexy outfits and dance moves. Selena started acting as a
child. Around the age of 10, Selena will become the lead singer
of her family's band, Selena Y Los Dinos. The musical group
began playing at weddings and clubs in their native Texas. The
band introduced their brother Abraham on bass and his sister
Suzette on drums. His father, Abraham, a former musician,

spokesperson. The first two jingles he sang were composed by his brother Quintanilla III and Chris

album 'Nothing Compares With You' included a duo, 'Good Friends' of Selena and Alvaro Torres.
This song was not only his first single number one on the list of Latin songs of the Billboard Top
magazine in the United States, but also increased his participation in the most popular radio
channels. In 1992, he released his 'breakthrough album', 'Enter My World'. He remained in the
number 1 position on the billboard list for 19 weeks. ¡In 1993, he released “Live!", His Grammy-

Humanitarian Works
