Large Cooperation Projects
• A Jury including the project partners is selecting the submitted Project Papers
• Featuring European artists in a (max) 3 month residency program taking place in a 1st part at the
scientific place (CERN or ESO) and in a 2nd part at the artistic research place (Ars Electronica Future Lab)
• The creation of a constantly growing, sustainable European network of Scientific and Cultural
Institutions, Scientists and Artists
• Development of innovation presentation forms to meet the needs of projects at the interface
between art and science
• Deepening and expanding the developed results with associated best practice projects
• Creating and presenting an exhibition with the results at Ars Electronica Festival,
as well as at the cultural partners and optional at the scientific places

Target group:
We are inviting international artists working in the digital arts to submit their proposals
This competition is open for international artists and all kinds of innovative concepts and ideas in the fields of art and science.
„Art and science“: interactive art, digital musics & sound art, computer animation / Film / Vfx, digital communities & social media,
hybrid art, performance & choreography, digital design
Every concept submitted for consideration will be evaluated by a jury of experts in the order in which
it was received according to the following criteria:
•Aesthetics,
•Originality,
•Compelling conception,
•Innovation,
•Technique and quality of the presentation,
•Interest in the ideas of science as expressed by CERN or ESO
