The key takeaways are the minimum requirements for manufacture of new pressure vessels and heat exchangers with corrosion resistant material bonded or welded to a less corrosion resistant base material. It covers material specifications, fabrication, nondestructive testing, inspection and pressure testing requirements.

Some of the requirements for fabrication include welding procedures that do not impair properties of base or cladding materials, requirements for attachments welded to base or clad materials, and post weld heat treatment procedures. Stripped areas for attachments must be re-clad.

Nondestructive testing methods required include dye penetrant testing of base welds to be clad and weld overlays, and ultrasonic testing of clad materials to verify meeting chemical composition specifications.
