Online Course vs Face to Face Learning

Online education is becoming more popular, and many traditional universities now
offer online degree courses. In the future students will study online at home rather than at
university. Conventional learning is evolving with the help of computers and online
technology. New ways of learning are now available, and improved access is one of the most
important benefits available. People all around the world are experiencing improved mobility
as a result of the freedom and potential that online learning provides, and as academic
institutions and learning organisations adopt online learning technologies and remote-access
learning, formal academic education is becoming increasingly legitimate. This essay will
argues the nowdays benefits of online learning.
In theory, lectures that require little personalization or human interaction can be
recorded as multi-media presentations, to be watched by students at their own pace and place.
Such commoditized parts of the curriculum can be easily delivered by a non-university
instructor on Coursera (Coursera is a worldwide online learning platform founded in 2012),
for example; teaching Pythagoras’ theorem is pretty much the same the world over. For such
courses, technology platforms can deliver the content to very large audiences at low cost,
without sacrificing one of the important benefits of the face-to-face classroom, the social
experience, because there is hardly any in these basic-level courses.
Let’s take a look at the reasons why online learning is better than face-to-face learning.

Fisrt Demand or request for digital content online education is estimated to reach
$325 billion by 2025. Thus, learning can’t remain confined to face-to-face methods. Many
companies and their employees struggle to justify the time spent in traditional classroom
training. Moreover, employees prefer digital content. Many employees are busy and
overwhelmed. Despite this, they still want to learn. They want high-value content that is
customized and relevant to their needs. Second Less Time Commitment. At 2017 Brandon
Hall Group (One of the top research and analyst firm) report found that e-Learning can
decrease employee training by 40-60%. This is important since busy schedules and limited
free time are among the reasons many don’t enroll in traditional courses. But with online
learning, employees have total control over their learning. They can re-read the course
modules and go through the available online resources, such as eBooks, audiobooks, online
tutorials, external links, etc. Third tracking of learning patterns. Jane Hart’s Modern
Workplace Learning 2019 survey says that 76% of employees learn from articles, videos, and
other online resources. While we can easily track this with online learning, the same can’t be
done with face-to-face training. The analytic tools in an LMS (A learning management
system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking,
reporting, automation and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and
development programs. The learning management system concept emerged directly from e-
Learning) can provide us detailed reports about every learner’s performance and progress.
Last, are high retention rate. E-Learning can boost knowledge retention by 25-60% according
to the Research Institute of America. This is because online learning materials are visually
stimulating, concise and more interactive. Plus, features like gamification, surveys, quizzes,
and assessments present in a modern LMS make it even more interactive. Online courses
increase students retention rates compared to traditional courses. As courses with multimedia
content (images, videos, audios, links, etc.) are more engaging and are easily accessible on
any device.
So, we now know that online learning is far more effective than traditional
learning.Plus, it has made learning more efficient, personalized, and accessible to learners
when they need it. Evidence shows that there are certain groups of students that benefit from
college distance learning much more than other groups. In essence, students must be highly
motivated and highly disciplined if they are to learn effectively in their own private
environment.
