    System Requirements
    OS:
    Windows: 32/64-bit Vista/7/8/10
    Linux: 64-bit x86 Ubuntu 12.04 or newer / 32-bit armhf Raspbian/Ubuntu MATE
    macOS: 10.7 (OS X Lion) or newer

    Software:
    Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1 or newer (Windows)
    Mono Framework 5.14.0 or newer (Linux)

    CPU:
    1.0 GHz dual-core processor (minimum)

    Memory:
    2 GB RAM

    Graphics Card:
    128 MB with OpenGL hardware acceleration

    Display:
    1280x800 display resolution is recommended as a minimum

    Disk space:
    500 MB for program files

    1 The procedure to install DWSIM on Windows OS
    1. Please make sure that you meet the system requirements to be able to download and
    install DWSIM.

    2. Open your default web browser.

    3. In the address bar, type the following URL and press Enter.
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/dwsim/files/DWSIM/

    4. Click on the folder with latest version. Currently it is DWSIM 5.6.

    5. Click on the folder with latest update. Currently it is Update 9.

    6. Click on ”DWSIM bin v56u9 setup win7win8win10 64bit.exe” (if it is 64 bit Operating
    System)
    Click on ”DWSIM bin v56u9 setup win7win8win10 32bit.exe” (if it is 32 bit Operating
    System)

    7. The .exe file gets downloaded and saved in the Downloads folder.

    8. Go to Downloads folder and double click on .exe file.

    9. In User Account Control window, click Yes.

    10. In Installer Language window,Click OK.

    11. DWSIM 5.5.6 Update 9 Setup window appears. Click Next.

    12. In License Agreement section, click on I Agree.

    13. Click on Next.

    14. In Select components to install field, select all the components and click Next.

    15. Click on Next.

    16. Click on Install.

    17. In ChemSep 8.01 LITE Setup License Agreement section, click on I Agree.

    18. Click on Next.

    19. Click on Next.

    20. Click on Install.

    21. Click on Next.

    22. Click on Finish.

    23. Click on Next.

    24. Under CAPE-OPEN libraries, check the Accept License Agreement check box.

    25. Click on Next.

    26. Click on Next.

    27. Click on Install.

    28. Click on Finish.

    29. Click on Next.

    30. Click on Finish.

    31. DWSIM is successfully installed.

    2 The procedure to install DWSIM on Linux OS


    1. Please make sure that you meet the system requirements to be able to download and
    install DWSIM.

    2. Open your default web browser.

    3. In the address bar, type the following URL and press Enter.
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/dwsim/files/DWSIM/

    4. Click on the folder with latest version. Currently it is DWSIM 5.6.

    5. Click on the folder with latest update. Currently it is Update 9.

    6. Click on ”dwsim 5.6.9-amd64.deb”

    7. The file will be downloaded and saved in the default downloads folder

    8. Install Mono Framework version 5.14 or newer

    9. Open the terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T keys together.

    10. Type the below command and press enter


    sudo gdebi dwsim 5.6.9-amd64.deb

    11. In the terminal, type dwsim.

    12. If DWSIM opens on your machine, then this means that DWSIM is successfully installed.

    3 Checking the installation
    1. To check the software installation, please follow these steps:

    2. For Windows: Go to DWSIM, right click on it and select ”Run as administrator”


    For Linux: Open a command terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T and type ”dwsim-classic”

    3. In Welcome to DWSIM window, click on the Samples under Quick Access.

    4. Click ”Carbon Combustion.dwxml”.

    5. Maximize the flowsheet window.

    6. Now press Solve Flowsheet button.

    7. Following message should be displayed after solving the flowsheet ”The flowsheet was
    calculated successfully”.
