GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the teaching the students are able to explain the definition, incidence, etiology, types, pathophysiology, clinical
manifestations, assessment, diagnostic findings and management of Hypertension and develop attitude and skills in providing care to
patients with Hypertension.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the teaching, the students are able to

 Define Hypertension.
 Explain the types of hypertension.
 Enlist the causes of hypertension.
 Identify the sign & symptoms of hypertension.
 Describe the diagnostic evaluation of hypertension.
 Explain about the drug therapy of hypertension.
 Demonstrate skills in adapting life style modification for the hypertension.
 Discuss the patient and family teaching.
 Discuss about the home based B.P monitoring.
 Explain about the patient compliance.

Assignment:

Draw a nursing care plan for a patient with Hypertension.
