WHAT TIME IS IT?

Examples:
8:00: It´s eight o´clock.

8:10: It´s ten after eight.

8: 15: It´s a quarter after eight.

8:25: It´s twenty five after eight.

8:30: It´s half after eight.

8:40: It´s twenty to nine.

8: 45: It´s a quarter to nine.

8: 55: It´s five to nine.

ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY:
 Always – siempre 100%
 Usually – usualmente 80 – 75 %
 Often 50 %
 Sometimes. – a veces 25%
 Never – nunca 0%
THE POSITION OF THE ADVERB IN A SENTENCE
a. An adverb of frequency goes before a main verb (except with to be)
SUBJECT + ADVERB + MAIN VERB+C
Example:
HE / SHE / IT = EL VERBO VARÍA (+S, +ES, +IES)
 I always remember to do my homework.
 Sandra always makes dinner.
 I sometimes go to work by bus.
 I usually get up early.
 I never play computer games.

b. Frequency adverbs come after the verb be.


SUBJECT + VERB TO BE + ADVERB+C
Example:
 Jackie is always late for class.
 I am always tired on Fridays.
 He is often late for work.

c. Frequency adverbs come after not. Except for sometimes. Don´t put sometimes after
not.
Example:
 Marco isn´t usually late for class.
 Marcos doesn´t usually make his bed.
 Marco sometimes doesn´t make his bed.
HOW OFTEN?
How often do you go to the cinema?
Once / twice / three times a week.
Once a week = Una vez a la semana
Twice a week = Dos veces a la semana
Three times a week = 3 veces a la semana.
Four times a week = 4 veces a la semana.
