    I grew up in a small remote Island called “Sandwip” in Bangladesh and it was completely isolated from the

    metropolitan city Chattogram. Horispur is a small village of “Sandwip” where I completed my five years of
    primary studies. During my study, I saw so many people in my village including young and elderly had no
    basic knowledge about counting numbers even my grandfather, it was all because of the lack of standard
    education, insufficient mathematical skills, and communication gap. I used to teach my grandfather some
    general algebraic formulas everyday basis and within a few weeks, he became better to count a lot. I felt
    happy when I realized that all my family members were appreciated my effort and eventually this led me
    to the obsession with the power of Mathematics.

    When my family was transferred to the Mainland(Chattogram) of my city, I have experienced the utmost
    interest in Mathematics between talented teachers and students. My prominent eagerness and passion
    about Mathematics forced me to study better those subjects which were linked to Mathematics,
    especially Statistics, Physics, and Economics in my secondary and higher secondary school by which I have
    successfully understood the fundamental intuitions and principles of Mathematics and Statistics. After all,
    I have completed my undergraduate and postgraduate education in Statistics which is fairly related to
    Mathematics from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh which is the 3rd best university in entire
    Bangladesh. Even though the enrolment process was extremely competitive with thousands of
    prospective students competing for admission in the University of Chittagong, my hard work and passion
    for Mathematics and Statistics ensured that I got admission in the university. During my studies, I have
    learned programming languages such as FORTRAN and R to solve complex mathematical and statistical
    problems. I also applied my statistical and mathematical knowledge to make an academic project called
    “Experiences and perfections regarding e-learning of the students of the University of Chittagong”. The
    whole Statistical Analysis of my project was conducted by SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences)
    software.

    After completion of my Masters, I started working as a financial securities trader in an esteemed


    brokerage house known as “LankaBangla Securities Ltd”. I did extremely well in this field and decided to
    make a career in trading financial instruments. It is while working in this job that I realized that financial
    mathematics was a core skill needed in the stock market as these markets broadly used financial
    mathematics methods for derivative securities, valuation, portfolio structuring, risk management,
    scenario simulation as well as market analysis. I, therefore, started looking for a course in financial
    mathematics in Bangladesh but unfortunately, I did not find any university in Bangladesh which offers any
    course in Financial Mathematics or Actuarial Science. After searching on the internet for the best options
    available, I decided to apply in Technische Universität of Kaiserslautern for the M.Sc in Actuarial and
    Financial Mathematics under Department Of Mathematics. I have taken the decision for abroad education
    when I highly motivated by one of my best friends who has completed his master program from a very
    apex university in Germany.

    After I chose this program because it is a research-oriented program and will provide me with theoretical
    foundations and skills necessary for a complete understanding of complex financial and actuarial markets,
    which in turn will enhance my career prospects. Moreover, the subjects of the program build on the
    knowledge I acquired in my Bachelors and Masters. I have already studied some relevant subjects such as
    Probability, Basic Statistics, Bio-Statistics, Actuary, Inference, Test of Hypothesis, Macro and Micro
    Economics, Econometrics, Sampling Techniques and some very crucial Mathematical specializations such
    as Algebra, Complex Number, Mathematical Series, Geometry, Trigonometry and Advance Calculous.
    Having studied these subjects beforehand, it will be easier for me to understand and complete my
    education in Germany.
    I am looking forward to studying in Technische Universität of Kaiserslautern because it is a public
    university and has a rich history in providing qualifications which are highly recognized and valued by
    employers in most countries, especially in South Asia. This is a university which has lauded enormous
    accolades and recognition in Germany. The Department of Mathematics in this university is fully loaded
    with state-of-the-art facilities and thus will provide me with an intrinsic, technology-oriented and modern
    mathematical Knowledge.

    I chose Germany as my destination to complete my further education because it is one of the best
    destinations in the world for conducting research and completing rigorous study programs in the field of
    mathematics for international students. Moreover, the diversity of students in the country will enable me
    to make friends from different nationalities, learn new cultures & traditions and also enhance my
    interpersonal skills. Finally, the living and transportation expenses in the country are in favor of students.

    Bangladesh is a developing country in South Asia and believed to be one of the most economically
    booming countries in the world. Financial and Non-Financial sectors are working as a key factor in the
    advancement of its potential and promising economy, however, shortage of skilled trainer and interested
    apprentices, as well as professional experts hinder its overall development.

    My intention after completion of my studies in Germany is to come back to my home country. I will be
    fully qualified with native Bachelor and Master Degree as well as a Master degree from Germany. The
    employers in Bangladesh highly value European degree holders and as such I will have a competitive edge
    in the job market, especially in the Capital Market. I want to apply the knowledge and skills that I will learn
    in Germany, in the Bangladeshi financial markets. My ultimate goal is to make a career in the financial
    markets through which I will make my family proud and contribute to the economy of Bangladesh.

    I am very optimistic and curiously anticipating to join in this renowned university and start my desire
    course as soon as possible.
