QUYNH TRANG NGUYEN - Student ID: 730017134

1. What is your interest in your chosen programme of study and what are you hoping to
learn?

During my university studies and work, processing large volumes of discrete data to reveal key
trends, changes to aggregate and draw conclusions is something I often encounter. I have been
trained through tools like Power BI, STATA, etc. and learned other tools like SQL, Python
while working. These methods improve the speed and accuracy of solving problem processes.
I feel truly interested in these skills and aspire to experience, studying the Master of Business
Analytics at The University of Exeter to gain access to practical and in-depth expertise that can
help me widen my job opportunities. The modules of the Business Analytics course at Exeter
delve into each of the areas necessary for a business analyst's future work: learning the most
appropriate method of visualising; access tools such as Python to access, manipulate and store
data; develop a theoretical understanding of relational databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL
databases; etc. The University of Exeter offers exceptional academic training created by top-
tier experienced professors and faculty counsellors, giving me more confidence that I will soon
gain achievement, be promoted in career, step by step to the position of Project Manager.

2. What are your future ambitions and how will your studies help you to achieve them?

After finishing the Master program, first and foremost, I aim to become a Project Manager?
working for multinational companies to gain experience before returning to my country to
efficiently use data as in Vietnam - a developing country, this process is quite new. From there,
they will understand customers and markets through data, which can help businesses gain more
competitive positions against rivals, help enhance products and develop more sustainably. I
believe that the knowledge and expertise learnt such as identifying trends, utilising, and
leveraging data to solve problems, using real data to address real organisational problems,
developing charts, and creating visual presentations to aid in business-making decisions in this
course will create a solid foundation and enable me to manage this purpose. This will lead to
the development of the economy in my town, provide natives with more employment and raise
their living standard in the long term.

3. What would being awarded a Global Excellence Scholarship mean to you – what
difference would it make?

The University of Exeter has a history of awarding scholarships to promising students from all
over the world to bring knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities to their home communities.
I believe with your guidance and assistance; I can achieve my targets. The multidisciplinary
focus of the development programs for which I am applying at your university will provide me
with the abilities to boost profits and strengthen companies; creatively address the economic
and social development challenges of Vietnam in many ways. Being awarded a scholarship
will be both a motivation, an opportunity as well as a challenge for me to really study hard,
focus on acquiring knowledge, hone skills, to become a pioneer in my sector and to feel that I
truly deserve its worth of this prestigious award.
4. As a Global Excellence Scholar, how might you act as an Ambassador for the
University?

Among the exchange students in the spring semester of 2019 in the US, I was fortunate to be
the only one to write an introduction, describing in detail the entire experience and experience
during the 1-year period living and studying in the US. My article has attracted many juniors,
helping them have a new perspective on America, as well as the way of education in the US,
accumulated lessons so that they are not overwhelmed when they arrive in America. I always
actively answer their problems from the very first process. This has effectively influenced the
emotional drivers behind student decision-making and the admissions process. This is certainly
a noble task, I am not a Student Ambassador of my university, however, I have a great passion
for sharing everything I have been through, helping people and establishing new relationships.
I also believe that, if I become the representative of your university, I will actively contribute,
share, and accompany my peers on campus. I suppose that being a Student Ambassador will
have more responsibilities, greater goals. I expect to offer the next generation of best-fit
students an honest and enthusiastic vision of life at your institution and in the UK generally,
creating a stronger Exeter community.
