Environment ::
Description : Project involved to create automatic network oriented attendance system in VLAN
Solaris environment. Along with web based reporting, backup, VLAN facilities
#System management, which includes: User & security administration, configure Role Based Access control, Perform system backup and restores, configure
system massaging, manage swap configuration, core dump, storage volume using RAID and Perform system boot & shutdown procedures, Implement and manage
Zones
Key learning: understand almost all options & arguments of user related commands. If there is a need to assign specific permissions to a particular user, group &
other users, ACL is come into the picture. And if we want to assign a particular task to a particular user, then a role can be assigned to that user using RBAC. By
using RAID we can effectively use the disk space and can make the data read consistent & redundant. By using zones we can run multiple instances on the same
machine, application running on one instance does not affects resources used by other applications.
Project on make the system highly available (Organization’s main Server) secure, accurate & 24x7 available, which includes: NIS, DHCP,
DNS, NTP, IP Filter Firewall, NFS, AUTOFS, Sub-netting, IP Network Multipathing, router, backup of system.
DESCRIPTION : Handling the network of 30 Sun/oracle servers along with 135 clients. Responsible for building and maintaining a stable
production Environment consisting of Sun Solaris servers in a 24x7 environment.
A single centralized machine provides information necessary to communicate over the network, and an another server called slave server balances the load by
serving request from the clients & offers fault tolerance by continuing to serve if the main server goes down. This machine also provides IP addresses, host address
to IP address resolution, secure system using Firewall & assigning permission to files and directories, disc space and directory to a particular user. IPMP provides
network consistency if one network interface goes down. And by implementing sub-netting & super-netting we can make efficient use of networks & its IP addresses.
