    To Whom It May Concern:

    I am writing this letter in support of Ashley Watts candidacy for a position in your District. In my
    capacity as an Adjunct Professor at Kutztown University, I was Ashley’s professor during her
    professional semester in the course Teaching Mathematics/Grades 2-4. Additionally, I was her
    supervisor for her field placement in second grade during her Professional Semester Teaching
    assignment at Steckel Elementary School as well as her Student Teaching Supervisor in fourth grade at
    Zephyr Elementary School both of which are located in the Whitehall-Coplay School District

    Miss Watts exhibits many qualities to be an excellent teacher. She exemplifies enthusiasm, passion for
    teaching, responsibility and professionalism. She establishes an excellent rapport with the students and
    professionals alike. She strives to engage students in active learning as well as provide equitable
    opportunities for all students. One of Ashley’s greatest strengths is that she deals with every student as
    an individual and demonstrates a commitment to respecting each and every student’s dignity.

    Ashley is a strong manager of the classroom and demonstrates fundamental knowledge of how to
    implement planned instruction with concrete use of formative assessments, which maintain student
    engagement and increases students’ knowledge. She creates a classroom environment that is structured,
    warm, supportive, respectful and equitable. Her thoughtful and thorough planning lays the groundwork
    for good management because of the level of engagement promoted. Ashley promotes active
    participation through the use of interactive media, using anchor charts, manipulatives and activities that
    are relevant and rigorous for students.

    Miss Watts is an effective communicator with all stakeholders in the educational process. She
    articulates clearly and demonstrates a strong ability to understand how to communicate content to
    students so they understand. Additionally, she communicates well with peers, mentors, and supervisors.
    She willingly accepts and implements suggestions from her university supervisors and mentor teachers.
    She is highly self-motivated, reflective and takes initiative.

    Ashley Watts will be an asset to any school district. I give her my highest recommendation for any Pre-
